Connectors should be in tomorrow and I should be modding my harness and installing the switch sometime this weekend. Will take the car into the service center sometime next week.

ok awesome. No reason it shouldn't work as long as they program it correctly. Once I get the harness built I can test for the appropriate resistances from the switch at the X85 connector and verify 12V and GND. If all that is good then it's just a matter of the programming.

I'd buy one off you if you built me one. The harness is still on backorder

Connectors are in hand. I will post pics this weekend with a small write-up. Those interested in one of these harnesses please PM me for a price and to get in the que. I only have 9 of the S70R connector left after I do mine. Make that 7 as Coop and technoside2 have already expressed interest. Please also indicate if you'd like a full replacement harness or a kit to modify your existing harness. The kit will include the wires already cut to length and the terminals already crimped on. Inserting the terminals and splicing the wires that need to be spliced will be up to you. Really, it's not that hard.

OK it's all in. Thanks to techsupport for his write-up I was able to easily complete this mod. I modified my stock harness to add the right-side controls. There's 4 wires to that connector. The steering wheel control switch signal wire goes directly to the X85 connector while the other 3 (12V, GND, Dimmer) wires need to be spliced into the wires that go from the X85 to the left-side controls. I just used some simple butt crimps for this as there's plenty of room behind the airbag. I could have solder-spliced the wires but, it's a bit overkill when butt crimps will do just fine. I verified the switch worked by connecting the harness to the right-side switch and measuring resistances for each of the buttons on the X85 connector. Everything measured out as it should. I took pictures along the way and will be posting those tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll get my radio and BCM reprogrammed Monday or Tuesday and I'll have functioning steering wheel controls and PDIM when I pick my car up. Think I'll have them look at my gills as well since it looks like they've been sandblasted.

I'd start a new thread.. How to build your own steering wheel controls harness.

Yes they should be able to. Anybody with a tech2 tool and access to the right programming resources should be able to do it. It cost me $162 to get my steering wheel controls and PDIM reprogrammed. They should charge you a little less than that.
