With all respect, give yourself at least a 50% margin for this build taking longer than you think. If they can keep that tight schedule with the amount of modifications being made that would be be fantastic. Just know that most everyone on this site who has made substantial changes like you ended up with 2-3x the timeframe to completion. There are at least 1/2 dozen high end Camaros out there who are still months behind. If Corey can pull it off - kudos ! Just don't get too angry if it isn't ready for your late Feb trip. :upset:

He said it is time to bring the car to the shop, from his house, and start the tear down this coming week... middle of the week or so..

He'll drop the rear subframe and fuel tank and take care of that area... As he goes back together with it, he'll add in the suspension components...

From there he will work forward coordinating it with the arrival of the short block.. Hopefully, we are still on schedule for me to get it back around the very end of Feb... I have a trip to Louisiana to make... and would love to drive the beast... Every time I ride my Harley to La. I end up close to drowning in the frequent torrential rain storms...

Apparently most all of the other parts have arrived, and he is running out of shop space to store all the box's...

Thanks to all who bounced my thread back from the second page...

Again, if you came in here, I appreciate you following along... Brandi will come out the hospital in a little better shape than she went in...

I agree, even though I did all my own work on days off with help from a few Buddies along the way. It was a month longer to completion then I planned for.

I certainly wont get mad... i understand things happen, and there it is... I just hope for a least a few days driving it before i come back to work... Getting in that beast for the first time and driving it a thousand miles could be really interesting.

I wish in a lot of cases that I had the resources you have, but you can keep the weather... though having said that about the resources, as involved as this one is... I'm fine to pay someone else to do it... I'll tear apart a multi-multi-million dollar stack (blow out preventer), but not my own engine in this day and age of computerized everything...

Got this from Corey, my builder, a few minutes ago....

The have the block machined and ready for final hone once the pistons get there. Then the rotating assembly gets balanced and they assemble it. I got another email that said as soon as they got the pistons they would gang rape it and get it done ASAP for me. No pressure!

Who's parts are you using for the rotating assembly. One day we will be putting a forged rotating assesembly in Pumpkin. Most liklely Eagle. Pistons are pistons. Lots of good ones out there.

Here are the rotating forged internals... and a few other goodies

Callies Dragon Slayer crankshaft,
Manley billet rods,
Wisco forged pistons,
Billet main caps,
ARP main studs.

They ought to handle some ponies... I guess the upside of the build starting so late is I get to witness it first hand...

The pics are the top of the short block... A truss system allows for more deck stiffness... and then the sleeves inserted...

That's like counting carb's and I don't do that either... And I drive way too fast to worry about cholesterol.

Yeah.... LS-3+ works...

Well poop,

I finally got an e-mail from Chevy Parts Plus about my spoiler that I oredered last April 6th...

GM has finally released them, and then I get a follow up e-mail from the sales dept that they are only currently available in VR, black, and SIM.

I guess since they don't know when the other colors will be released, I'll take one of these and have it painted to match... At least that way, i'll have it for the Fest...

Yep it's a crying shame they they are only offereing three colors. I couldn't wait and I ordered one of the look alikes and the only diffeence is the one I ordered does not have the third brake light but is the same in every other way.

I apologize for mixing my colors up, so sue me... but in the previous post about the spoilers, I mentioned they (GM) were releasing VR, Black and SIM spoilers, but it's actually VR, Black, and CGM...
