A POLL TO REMOVE THE “2010 Production Camaro body spied on assembly line!!” Thread
After reading the post “Electrician fired over leaked photos..” I've come to a conclusion, that the thread in question is not only STOLEN INFORMATION and quit possibly hurtful to GM.
So I’m going to go out on a limb and ask that the thread “2010 Production Camaro body spied on assembly line!! be removed off OUR site. GM has made a statement (By firing the employee that took these pictures) that they (GM) in no-way, shape or form. Took these photos to generate hype for the Camaro! I think we owe them this much (as a sign of support) That WE at Camaro5 will not support / propagate or miss appropriate stolen information or photos. I think this is the appropriate thing for OUR forum to do, As the powers at GM have always provided us with insiders to kept us on the cutting edge of information. I’m curious to know what our other members think about this...??? Do you agree, or not! Yes / No and why? If the Majority feels the same that I do…I say we follow this creed until the bitter end!

What would the purpose of doing this be?? Is this in support for GM? Is it in support for the electrician? Would removing the thread or pictures get the poor guy his job back? I think it would be useless to delete the thread let alone the images. It's not like we are the only forum on the web with these images! I have an idea Dodge and Ford have already seen them by now anyway if the image are of any use to them! I think if we are that serious about removing them, someone should email GM directly and ask them if this is something that should be taken down immediately!

It's kinda too late to do any sort of damage control. I don't know what could really be gained from doing this anyway. It's great that some enthusiasts want to respect GM, but it's not our fault the pictures weare leaked or that they were taken. The ladder falls in the hands of the supposed "electrician" that took the photo's, not the Camaro enthusiasts community.

I vote No because they have leaked and thats just what happens weather its on this site or not its still out there. I do on the other hand feel bad for the electrician that lost his/her job, but he/she should have known that if they leaked and GM found out he was going to get the can anyways. ***Back to the subject** The camaro is on the assembly line, we all know that by now so why not just let them stay up and make it a closed sticky or something???

Uh, I voted yes, but I like Captain Awesome's idea, drop the pics, not the whole thread, because it is pretty interesting to read. Maybe a Moderator or Admin should chine in?

I voted no...we're becoming a big name in the world of the 5th gen and all, but we're far from the only website with these pics. Us removing them would prevent nothing, and the damage has already been done.

I voted no. At this point it would be like trying to get pee out of a pool. The pics are over a week old. It would meant something to not post them when they surfaced, but now its useless. Everyone knew these were 'stolen' pics as soon as they were posted. These clearly weren't released by GM.

It's not that the car exists, it's how it's made that GM wants kept to themselves...if they found an innovative way to manufacture the car cheaper or better, they want that all to themselves for the competitive edge over the other guys.
Seriously, GM would rather have pretty much anything else BUT this released tot he public right now I imagine. |

I voted YES.
My thoughts are this; I'd remove the picture. Sure, it's all over the internet by now, but out of our respect for Scott, as well as GM's intentions that it not be shown, I'd remove the picture from our site. As others have stated above, "Whats the harm now? The pictures are "out there". It's my opinion that to show our respect for GM as well as Scott, the pictures be removed. Maybe people wouldn't make questionable decisions which may untimately lead to a loss of their job if there weren't so many forums looking to post "unauthorized" information. I say lets show a little restraint. (I'm sure my thoughts aren't popular - sorry - thats how I feel) |

I agree with Moose, but what's done is done. I think it would be a nice gesture though to remove them. I voted "not sure" FWIW.
