6 Years In Storage.
I have a 2011 2SS/RS with only 9500 miles and due to things out of my control my poor car had been in storage for about 6 years. She is home now but I have a few questions that hopefully y'all can help me with, since SO much has changed in 6 years.
I know back in the day Adam's products were the hot thing to use. So first question, Is Adam's still "where it's at" or has someone else came along and took the "crown. Anyone have tips on how to actually clean the leather since it has literal dust buildup and I dont want to scratch the basically still new leather. So looking for way to clear the dust then condition the leather. Thanks! and enjoy your long weekend!

I would think a shop vac to get rid of the loose dust then some damp rags to wipe off the rest should do the trick.
Then get at it with the leather conditioner/cleaner product.

I would change the fluids especially the oil if you haven’t.
Chemical guys has been killing the game for a while with amazing products. I would dust off the interior with a vacuum or a soft duster then a damp soft rag. Then condition they leather since it’s probably pretty dry

In addition to above... Welcome back! And good job getting the hot rod back out
I do everything myself and in your case I would seriously think about hiring a pro to clean the seats. It's pretty amazing what they can do. |

Thanks!! Y'all are the best and so glad to be back at it. BTW yes I am changing all the fluid's.
So is Adams still the go to or y'all recommend the chemical guys? I know everyone will probably have their own opinion but I'm just curious.

I'm going to be honest I didn't even think about the brake fluid steering fluid or the coolant... I might take those somewhere to get that done unless it's pretty easy I hurt my back and had major surgery a year ago so can't do what I used to be able to unfortunately.

What do yall do for cleaning a engine bay? its just dust shit like that no oils or ect. Just best to grab a leaf blower and then wipe down with a towel and something? If so what do yall recommend to wipe it down with?

Adams never fails, but some are cheaper and as good in some areas, if you're inclined to shop around. Joe M does offer great advice across brands!
I'd shop vac with a soft brush attachment, then open it up and blow everything with a car dryer, if you have one, vaccuum once more, then move to spray interior detailers and cleaners, and finally condition the seats. They offer goo now, too, for things like crevices and vents, like a slime that picks up dust and crumbs Adam posted a great video on engine detailing a little while back. I did it on the wife's daily tahoe a few weeks ago. 45k on it and first cleaning. It looked like new in 15 minutes. Would probably spend more time on the Camaro with a rag, after. Would also start there with my blower. I would generally not use a leaf blower, but if you know it is clean inside it beats nothing. Welcome back. Should post "barn find" pics! |

Damn that looks so much better after. Gonna find Adams video today and order some stuff for the car.
What do you use for detail spray now? Back 6 years ago I was using Adams pink detail spray BUT I see they have kinda changed to using that as a clay bar thing and have other better things on their website? Anyone recommend best Adam's detail spray to use?
