To me it sounds more like drone than anything (at least with Flowmaster AMT). Power is still there when you need it, so it does not sound like a 4 banger or anything. I do wish the dealer could just deactivate it, and keep the warranty intact. It is surprising how often and when it kicks in and out though (never know with the stock exhaust).

I don't have a lot of miles on my car, so I (any primarily my wife) am not ready to void the warranty with a tune... yet.

Is it so annoying that I don't want to drive the car out of shame, DEFINITELY NOT - the car is still a beast with a touch of the pedal!

It doesn't sound like a 4 banger... it sounds like really, REALLY bad drone. Imagine the worst drone you have had with any previous vehicles...amplify it 5 fold and throw in a sluggish transmission without the tune...

I have DT shortie headers and the rear muffler delete, and the AFM does not bug me at all.

Sounds a little wierd, but not bad by any stretch, and power is back instantly when you want it.

I was taking an LS3 driver to his home last week and he asked what it was like (he hadn't noticed it yet in the 15 miles of city and freeway driving) and so I pointed it out to him, getting it to turn on and off for him, and he was amazed at all the people bad mouthing it, when it was a very little thing, and did not sound bad at all.

Now at the dyno yesterday, when I got up to the top of 3rd, and bottom of 4th gear, just before punching it, the AFM kicked in and it did sound bad then, because it was bouncing around inside the building and reverberating.

Otherwise, I have no complaints!
However, hopefully within the next month or so, I will be doing a cam job, and will probably just go with the LS3 conversion kit while I'm at it.

Should have gotten the Solo J-pipes. Along with my full unibody insulation, loud on the outside and oh so quiet inside.
