CAN USE SOME HELP! 1ST TRIP TO TRACK
Need some help here guys! Now in my defense I was operating off of about 3 hours of sleep and had worked from 7 a.m.to 6:30 p.m. and then straight to the track!
To say the least I felt like I was in a cloud of fog. However I have been waiting all year to get the car to the track and perform a shake down to see where this thing was at.Now my excused are out of the way. I AM LOOKING FOR HELP TO IMPROVE MY PERFORMANCE AT THE TRACK!! When I headed to the track I let my buddy know that I wanted to run at least a 10.8 last night.LOL, well that did not happen! Here are a list of all of my 5 runs in line. The last 2 runs were ran one after the other(hot lapped). PLEASE DO NOT LAUGH TOO HARD ON THI FIRST RUN, I WAS ASKED BY A COUPLE OF PEOPLE DID I TAKE A KNAP AT THE TREE: Oh yes, I have to add one more excuse- I was afraid of breaking my rear end so I did start off in 2nd gear.By the way Happy 4th of July to you all! :-) 1st Pass: reaction-1.23 60 foot-3.13 (spinning 1-3 gear) 1/8 mile- 96.17 1/4 mile- 106.94 1/4 ET-13.74 (SMOKING QUICK) 2nd Pass: reaction-0.94 60 foot-2.79 (I SEE IMPROVENT) 1/8 mile- 96.71 1/4 mile- 118.64< I THINK I AM READY FOR CAMARO FEST> 1/4 ET-13.002 AT THIS POINT I WAS TOLD BY MY BUDDY THAT HE HOPES I CAN JUST GET INTO THE 11'S (PISSED ME OFF- SO I DECIDED TO START IN 1ST GEAR WITH A SOFT LAUNCH) 3rd Pass: reaction-1.07 60 foot-2.21 (spinning) 1/8 mile- 99.62 1/4 mile-125.42 1/4 ET - 11.752(THIS PASS SHIFTING INTO 3RD GEAR EXHAUST SEPARATED ON PASSENGER SIDE A HIT GROUND) 4th Pass: reaction- .091 60 foot-1.92(I WAS TOLD TO LOWER TIRE PRESSURE, WENT FROM 32-18 PSI BEFORE THIS PASS) 1/8 mile- 99.93 1/4 mile- 124.52 1/4 ET-11.454 The track was closing so I just did a hot lap for my final run.i am running Hoosier DR's on the car 5th Pass: reaction; red light I guess -0.169 60 foot- 2.24 1/8 mile- 100.33 1/4 mile- 128.42 1/4 ET -10.982 (THIS PASS I HELD MY RPM'S UP TO ABOUT 25 TO 2800 RPM'S ON LAUNCH AND HAD NO TIRE SPINN AT ALL, IT PULLUED THE FRONT END AND HOOKED GOOD. I DID HOWEVER SHIFT INTO 4TH GEAR BEFORE THE TRAPS AND SLOWED DOWN A TAD BIT). I DO PLAN ON INSTALLING MY ZL1 CENTER AND DSS D.S. ANDAXLES IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS.I WILL NOT REVISIT THE TRACK UNTIL THEN. ALL HELP AND SUGGESTIONS ARE VERY WELCOME. |

How much power u make? 10.9@128 with a not so good 2.2 60' is pretty fast. U just need some more practice launching.

If your trying for a good run and ET don't worry about the reaction time concentrate on the launch and leave when your ready.

THANKS, THAT IS WHAT I PLAN ON DOING THE NEXT TIME I GO TO THE TRACK. I WAS JUST DOING TOO MUCH THINKING AND TRYING TO MONITOR ALL MY GAUGES AND WHAT NOT INSTEAD OF CONCENTRATING ON DRIVING.

My tuner thinks that there is a problem causeing the computer to pull timing out of the car. He said I should be somewhere around 135-144 for my trap speed. Now I am not sure what to think here.?!

I have a forged bottom end LS3 with stock heads, intake and TB. The car has the Eliminator Fuel pump, 1300 injectors, comp cam blower cam with a F1a blower making about 12 pounds of boost. Also have the Alky meth system dual nozzle . Trans has a replacement clutch in it also.
As far a suspension does a drive shaft loop count? and replacement bushing for the stock rear. That is the list of mods done to the car as of now. Running on the 325/45/18 DR-2 by Hoosier out back and 255/50 R18's up front! |
