I get my Optimum at the Bodybuilding.com store as it's about half the price as in store. Sorry to just jump in here, but I went through my weight loss phase and learning about it all, so happy to help when I can. Good luck to all in 2013, I hope to gain about 5-10 lbs of muscle in the next year. |

Becky have you tried shakes already made from gnc. There really good. Also I use the body by vii. One of the best mixes I have used. Started on weds at 222 and I'm down 7 lbs. sometimes it's great to be a guy lol. Some people say losing this much isthmus fast is not healthy but when I diet like this I always fall fast. Also my biggest vice is what I drink. I can pulloff the diet with food but I miss my sweet tea. I used stevia in the raw to make tea and it was God awful. Any drinks you guys would recommend. I hate the nasty aftertaste some of these have.

12.27 miles in 41:15 average speed of 17.8mph and max speed of 26.8mph. It was a nice 67 degree day today and so I took the bike out. I got a 40 mile ride coming up next Sunday in Charleston SC.

Yeah Cfd I know.. However being raised in the south there is nothing like fried chicken and sweet tea lol..today's menu consisted of 100oz of water.. Protein shake for breakfast..played golf so I got a turkey sandwich on wheat with lettuce tomato spicy mustard.. Had bowl of granola raisin cereal with skim milk and for dinner..island pork loin with a salad.. Day is complete.. Three days down and a lot to go..

Actually, if you buy from GNC with a gold card, 1st week of the month or during their sales the prices are quite good.
Usually when choosing a whey protein, I look for 100% Whey Protein with Whey Protein Isolate, being first on the ingredient list. isolates are 90% protein, while concentrates are 80% protein. Whey Protein Isolates are faster absorbing making it a good choice pre/post workout, Casein or Casein blends are absorbed slower making them a prefference for a late night prorein There should be no other ingredients or sources of proteins, fats or sugars. |

That's what I'm sayin'! I just can't stand the taste of sugar substitutes. Give me REAL sugar or I'll just drink water. If I am going to have a soda.................It just has to have real sugar. That is just never going to change. I can drink a good tea unsweetened, but if sweet................it has to be sugar. I can go without the heaping tablespoon of lard my grandmother put in all her vegetables along with raw bacon, but gee wiz, can I trim all the fat off some country ham & cook it in my green beans??????????? I can eat some new & different things, but there is a point of weird beyond which I just can't go. I guess a lot of the hard core rules preached here I could do short term until I hit a target, but as far as making them permanent lifestyle change.........Well, I am just not sure I can see myself sticking with them. And I thought that was the goal.....permanent lifestyle change. There is also the fact that I live in a small town. We have a WalMart and Kroger & a couple of small grocery stores. If they don't carry it, then I have to drive to Nashville or Clarksvlle. Again I might do that for a while, but sustainable longterm, probably not. I will find my way through this but, this southern bell will have to figure out a way to retain those southern roots that run pretty deep.
