True, if that's that level of how you want to care for your car, but this is the detailing section and there are many here who can share the proper techniques with you to get you to your level of satisfaction.

If just running it through a touch less wash is your technique and you are satisfied, so be it but it comes at a price.

Oh, and once I read the title of the thread, I started singing "Workin' at the car wash!"

This is what I do and I have no issues with my paint. Now ask me about fricken rock chips!!

This thread has no place in the detailing sub forum lol. I hope nobody reads this and thinks any of it is good information.

There's nothing in here related to proper paint protection.

I guess we can use it as a 'what not to do' thread.

You got that right

I learned from the best in this forum, and still after a year and a half my car looks like it came off the showroom floor. Actually better if you could believe that.

Seems to be a good thread to me. His original intent was to warn people that the pressure from an automatic car wash can open your gas door.

That's true. The OP was worthwhile.

Am I the only one who actually enjoys washing/detailing their car?

I can say I certainly do. When I wash the dust off of my black car and it's perfectly reflective again.... For those ten minutes before more dust comes they are the best moments of my life lol....
But in all seriousness yes I believe some people do and some people dont, and the people that don't give me business!

I enjoy washing my own vehicle. I find it calming especially when the weather is so nice.
