Meth Injection on 850rwhp+

Hi, for you guys using meth injection, is it really necessary to use meth injection when going over the 800rwhp range? I am installing a 427 on my car with a TVS2300, I would like to understand how necessary is the meth injection in my case, do I need it or not.

Thanks

It's all gonna come down to how much boost/timing you need to use to get there and what octane fuel you have. I think you are pushing things even on 93 and I think meth is in your future at that level.

It's possible. Depending on what CR he starts with... It all comes down to cylinder pressures and how much the fuel he is using can take before detonation occurs...

800rwhp with a 427 running a Maggie will build alot of heat. The blower needs to push enough air to get the 800rwhp.

Do you need it ? -no

Would I run it? -yes

Adding a meth injection system is simply going to give you a bigger tuning window then you have currently. If you haven't read the article already. GM High Tech did a write up last month showing the before and after difference of methanol injection on a 2010 Camaro 427 KenneBell. Here's the article. let me know if you have any questions or how i can help.

Methanol is a great safety measure especially on a street car build with this much power. Its benefit as a cooling factor is a big advantage. Dont look at methanol as a performance mod but rather a safety net.

It all depends on you application, as stated above. We run meth kits on all of our high hp builds whether big cubes or not. Its just a simple and effective way to make things safe.

Absolutely agree. It all depends on how you approach it. Many are going to use it as a tool to make more power which is fine. While others will simply add it to their build as an added safety net on top of a safe tune. People need to understand there are different ways to apply it.
