Subwoofer turns off if you go past half volume

Rockford Fosgate P300-10 turns off when ever I go past 25 volume. If I the volume stays on around 1-25 it stays on but once past 25 it turns off. Anyone got any suggestions to what could be wrong?

What's the gauge power and ground wires you are running? It the ground a proper ground? Is the voltage fluctuating?

You sure the amp going to it isn't tripping into protect mode and cutting off?

I believe it's 4 guage. Stereo dude grounded it from somewhere inside the car. Should I drill a bolt in the trunk and ground it there?

The loc might be out of adjustment (set to high) see if turning it down might help
