You want to trade a 2011 for a '06? Bad idea. You will get hosed on that deal (not to mention trading for a mustang).

Is that a serious question?
Though your Camaro is the base model, it is still a nice car. A GT may be nice too, but it is six years older than your current car.
The only reason why such a trade would be considered would be if you have monthly payments you want to ridden yourself of.

Sure it looks nicer.. But those things were rated for like 270 horsepower.. evenas a v8. In 2009 mustang got a reality check that said "you suck, make your cars faster" and that is when they did. Even if you have the basic camaro, it is still faster, and handles better. At the end of the day it is up to you.. do you want a camaro that you will love forever, drives faster and better, or a rustang for the cosmetic features?

I have a 2003 Cavalier with a 1LE hood wrap and 4 new tires...

If you're interested in a trade.

Now what kind of an answer do you think you would get on a Camaro forum?

You expect to get lower payments with a used V8? If you find one, chances are insurance may be higher plus you will be spending more on gas.

Trading a 2012 for a 2006 is a very bad idea, and 05-10 Mustang GT's may have had a V8 but they are slower than the older LS1 Camaro's & Firebird's. Hold on to what you have and wait to buy a Camaro SS or 2011+ Mustang GT.
