Exhast advice

So I am a 98 Camaro owner..

I want my car to have a little bit more of a growl to it. Right now, I am running stock exhaust system, with a bad cat, and bad muffler. My plans are to get rid of the cat, and run straight pipe there (Eventually getting aftermarket high flow cat, for emissions). Since I have a bad muffler with holes it it, so it has a bit of a growl.

What I want is..

1. Cat delete
2. "Performance" muffler
3. Pacesetter headers.

---
Future plans

1. Magnaflow highflow cat
2. Catback piping, with same muffler..

I am pretty sure my first setup would be plenty loud, but I want to get the peak performance that I can out of the exhaust. I know it wont be much, but the little things add up. My question here is is there anywhere I can go to buy the exhaust tubing for a catback without a muffler with it?

Also after getting my exhaust finished up, what other mods should I start working on besides getting intake lid etc.. Its a everyday driver so nothing that will effect mileage too much

Okay I'm alittle confused. What muffler will u be running? I will tell u headers no cats and no mufflers doesn't sound good at all. You need something back there. If u want quiet get a magnaflow catback. Quiet, loud when u want it to be. I have SLP LM2 and I'm already over the loudness. Mine Is a daily so I will be switching to a factory SLP exhaust which I will put a cutout in.

As far as other mods, a full bolt on LS1 is a fast mofo. Look into a ported TB, gears for the rear end. If u have an auto go 3.73. 6 speed, 4.10's. then a nice to tune to tie it all together. My car is making great numbers with basically full bolt ons.

I was planning on getting Flowmaster 40 muffler, with no cat. but eventually, I want to get the old pipes, and get high flow pipes..

My problem is that I am not a mechanic, I have limited abilities, so getting high flow pipes would be a problem for me. I wanted to get something like a catback "kit" but without the muffler, that would be a waste of money, seeing that I would already have the muffler that I want.

Could I just go and get the piping, and take it to a shop to get bent, and welded on? If so how much will that run me?

If you have a V6 going by your Sig save your $$$ and just buy an OEM SS exhaust system and put it on. I have herd many 4th Gen V6 cars with no cats and it sounds like a dump truck. I put an OEM system on my wife's 2000 Camaro several years ago and it sounded good.

Now if you had a V8 I would suggest the GMMG Chambered Exhaust.

for the best on the 3.8 you want Borla pro xs muffler, then get the lt1 2.5" s,i and over the axle pipe form rockauto (WALKER Part # 47696 ). now you have a instant cheap cat back.

heres mine, have the shop make the tail pipes and delete the cat if you want.

I love the the cutout! I want to get one that has an electric switch for my Z28 eventually when I find a good deal.
