Tuners in my area do not seem to like to answer my questions or email or talk more than 1 time on the phone without getting a payment in hand. Not sure what to do.

10.7, 13.5psi procharger 93 and 100% meth
Also had Maggie on same setup making 16-17psi at the beginning of the run and dropping to 13 by the end. Also 93 and 100% meth. |

You can totally do a forged version of what you have now. And if for some reason you really only ever want to run 8psi, then keep the CR in the 10-10.5 area.
That said. If you are going to the effort of building a motor why not plan ahead for more power on pump gas? A 417 at around 9.5CR can be really fun on pump gas 12-14psi everyday Why are you wanting to go forged if you are already content with power? |

Maybe a drag radial would help but traction is tough to get on the street and I am moving away from drag racing and wanting to do track racing. Massive amounts of boost are not going to help the heat soak issues you can get on the track. Atleast thats what I am to understand. |

I'm running 9.5:1 on my 417 at 14psi of boost. Pump gas and have fun.

F the compression, get a good tuner with a good built motor. Low compression compensates for bad tuners. The Buick GN was a good high compression engine with boost included, you don't need a low compression unless you are doing supra boost, which is infinite. I have been around for a while specifically when it comes to boost. Higher compression and engines with vvt always respond better to boost. Since you are building the engine go with the ls3 stock compression is pretty good, but with what said, you need to get a good tune in that engine or is going to go KABOOM.
