I just find it interesting that upgrades are already being offered and predicted for a car that hasnt been released to the general public. Im also extremely curious to see how much HP is actually produced by the new Stingray with aftermarket parts.

I still think they should have added a e85 tune like the trucks have for those who want a little extra without voiding a warranty.

I'm sure there's someone that can correct me if I'm wrong (I'm lookin' at you, Fen), but I thought the entry 5.3L Corvette was just BS like the rumored 5.5L engine displacement from a while ago.

I thought the entry level engine was BS also, apparently it a strong idea being kicked around on the table. Question is, will this take away from the Corvette ownership prestige?

The rumor seems to have faded into obscurity though. The 5.5L engine was a load of crap from the start. I don't know why so many people bought into it.

Im curious to see if its just speculation of fact. Also curious to see if they do come out with the 5.3 engine, what changes are made to the body to to note the "entry" level Stingray.

Honestly, I think an entry level Vette is not a good idea. Don't get me wrong, I think even if has "just" 400 or less HP it would still be a great car, but really if you can't afford a 55K + car then you shouldn't be looking at purchasing a brand new Corvette. Either find a special pony car, or wait for something in the used market.
I think offering a cheap version, will cheapen the image just a bit.

I can see where the "entry" level Vette would be a bad move but I can also how having a cheaper Vette can bring in more sales for Chevy. At the end of the day its all about numbers and profit for the company, maybe chevy should make a more blue collar car like the Nova back in the late 60's.
