MCACN Pix 2011
These are my pictures from the Muscle Car And Corvette Nationals 2011 that I spent three days photographing. I have hundreds of pictures to share.
First I want to say what an AWESOME show and thank you to all that put it on. It is simply incredible. The 2012 ZL1 was there and Shurenuff got some great shots of it and started a thread here, http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183317 . Scott Settlemire, FbodFather, was there and was as gracious as ever. He was answering questions about the ZL1 and letting a select few actually sit in it. I have a shot with him you will see later. I will start by showing the Camaros but will also show you all the "other" brands as well because they deserve it. On with the show. OK, I usually start with the 5th gen Camaro's but this year I was awestruck by this 1968 Yenko Camaro and it's story. As Dana, the owner, tells it a couple of teenagers were reading the story in Hot Rod magazine about saving cars from the crusher that ran back in the '80's while eating in a fast food restaurant in SOCAL. When they looked up a flat bed wrecker went by with a beat up '68 Camaro on it's back. The two looked at each other and asked if that didn't look like it had the Yenko badges just like the article was referring to. Needless to say they chased the wrecker down the street and one of them bought the car off the driver who promptly dropped it right there on the street. He drove it till it died and then traded it to someone for a running Mustang so he could get to work. This second person took the car to the CA. desert where it sat for many years till Dana could wrestle it from him and restore it. Until the unveiling Dana had not seen it finished yet so it was an unveiling for him too. So, here it is. Dana, Tom and Rick. T.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same. Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different. I can't wait for my next Track fix. 1967 Shelby GT-500 Convertible and 1970/71 Dodge Diamante "Corvette Killer"
I know we are a Camaro Forum but this car is Super Rare. Because of that, and the model, I have included it.
Here is the short list of what makes this car rare: The only 1967 Shelby GT convertible built. The only big block GT convertible built by Shelby American, Inc. The only dual-quad carbureted Ford Mustang convertible and/or Shelby GT convertible built. The first big block Shelby GT convertible built. The first G.T. 500 to be factory-equipped with the Closed Crankcase Emissions System (smog). Though ordered with it, the first two big block cars did not receive it. The first G.T. 500 to be factory-equipped with both the Closed Crankcase Emissions System (smog) and air conditioning. Only 23 G.T. 500's were so-equipped in '67. The first Shelby to receive '68 styled bodywork. (ref: Jim Frank interview) One of two 1967 model year vehicles to be classified as "1968 Prototypes" by Shelby American. (ref: Ionia Move Notes - Jobs Yet to be Completed in CA) The third G.T. 500 to be built. The first was 0100, a Fastback; second was 0131, a Coupe and third was 0139, the convertible. Valued at $4,249.76, the convertible was the most expensive G.T. 500 in Shelby American's company car inventory for FY-1967 (ref: Vehicle Fixed Asset Ledger 07/31/1967). Initially assigned to Carroll Shelby as his personal driver. (ref: CSF Vehicle Info) One of, if not the most photographed and publicized Shelby GT cars ever built. This was the convertible seen on the cover of the press kits, dealer literature and print ads introducing the 1968 Shelby model line-up. Owners Brian and Samantha Styles. T.

Ok, what do you want next. Chevelle's, AMC's, Other GM's, Mopar's or Ford's? It probably won't be till tomorrow though.
