My car with it's little cam likely will have more power than the stock Z28, my car has about 520 hp @ the crank. I was expecting a car with an LS7 that was priced a between a 1LE and ZL1, it seems others were as well. No worries, GM didn't consult me for my input...

I see it being $58,995-59,595 or something like that for the base.

Base? Seems like the only options would be color and air conditioning... not really many options to make it much more than "base" anyway. I don't think they're going to offer a "luxury Z/28" to have anything more than a "base".

As a ZL1 owner, the last thing I am worried about is the Z/28 outshining the ZL1. I am thrilled that GM made the Z/28. I think that is a little presumptuous of you. I have not run into any ZL1 owners that have anything negative to say about the Z/28. While they may be surprised at the approach and have opinions on what they would have like to have seen, I think the #1 issue most people have is that is going to cost MORE than the ZL1 which is tough to justify unless you are a totally committed track person.

The only people upset about the Z/28 are those that will not be able to afford it. While it may be a bummer for some, you can't argue how great this car is going to be. A 1LE with an LS7 ain't gonna cut it.

I wish i concured. would have saved me lots of money. the ls3 does well in the vette but in the camaro it just feels so average.

even the lsa left me wanting for more until I modded it.

If GM decides to offer a decent BLUE akin to the Hotwheels color, I will be ordering a 2014 1LE with them thar fancy seats. I will be adding a cam, LT headers, intake, exhaust and of course a new tune. 500hp range, no problem. Crossing fingers.

That would be the ultimate 1LE. I would do backflips if they made Kinetic Blue available but I'm not optimistic. Is the lack of a nice blue the only thing holding you back from a 2014 1LE?

And they are the target buyer for the new Z/28.

People are upset by the approach GM took in creating the Z/28 not because they can't afford it, if you want speak for yourself go right ahead. It's just not practical for most ppl especially in my case being track orientated. I can reduce weight by taking out my speakers, and other means. But I'd rather not. Instead of stripping down to reduce weight a 5th Gen they should have waited for the Z/28 to be on a platform that will already be engineered for less weight(6th Gen) while maintaining some of the comforts people are used to. By putting a LS7 engine in GM is trying to sway some people to jump. I'm staying put. Kudos for GM bringing the hallowed name back but it was forced with a sub-par refresh. For those making it a DD good luck with that, I'm laughing at the first member who tears up his front lip on the highway.
