Where'd my Torque Monster Go?

So I just recently I slapped on NPP exhaust to me 2010 2SS L99. I noticed it was a bit more sluggish than usual and decided to do a system reset. I'd done the Fuse Pull before with decent results, but always felt that my car should be a bit more powerful than it is. Having bought it used, I decided a full system reset by unplugging the battery for over an hour was in order.

I plugged the battery back up and with my friend who ways near 260 lbs we decided to check out the results. With all of the nannies still on I floored it. The RPMs shot up instantly and my tires spun all of the way through 1st gear and partially through 2nd. My throttle response was like nothing I had ever experienced, and my torque was like nothing I had ever seen. Even when I did the Fuse Pull with myself in the car I never had seen this side of my car.

Anyways, I was hoping the computer wouldn't tune my car down too much, however, low and behold once I woke up in the morning my torque monster was gone. I had only put the few miles on it with my friend so the computer didn't have much data to look at. The low end was back to what I was used to seeing - which I feel is kind of sluggish for the car.

Anybody know where the torque went? I have only put 93 (from reputable brands) in my car since I got it a few months back.

Sounds like your PCM is dropping down to the low octane table for some reason. Check your exhaust and make sure it's not hitting or rubbing on anything. I have heard stories where the exhaust was causing knock and pulling timing. The knock sensors are very sensitive in these cars and will hear things we can not.

Well it dropped down to what I am used to prior to exhaust install. However, with that being said even with doing a Fuse Pull (where I did notice a difference) a couple of times within the past few months, I have never seen the response and torque I saw right after doing the battery unplug.

Sounds like it's time to data log your car and let a knowledgeable tuner review the files and see what's happening. You know the fuse pull is working but something is causing the PCM to revert to the low octane table. I'm certain it's knock, but from where is anyone's guess. Might want to contact a Mod and have this post moved to the tuning section or repost it there. Lot's of very knowledgeable guys hang out there.
