Odd, as I saw it listed as 186 in multiple places recently. At least four or five of the first drives in magazines said 186, and I read a post on Al O's Facebook page that said 186 too. Meh, 175, 186, either way that's damn fast for what these things cost!

Makes no sense why the SS 1LE would be 5 less than a regular SS. Same power, same gearing, etc, etc...I can't believe that the aero changes (splitter/spoiler) would make that much difference. Heck, the regular SS wing you would think would cause more drag. Only thing I can think of is the wider tires. Either way, the trade off is worth it.

Mine will probably never see over 160mph so I could care less if it's 175 or 186 haha

True but we got to the point that handling is paramount now and cars are designed to have the best aero for handling not necessarily top speed. I could care less if the car can do 200 if I can't make it stick in a turn. The monster Viper ACR's top speed is only 177 because of it's aero.

Maybe 186 is with the tires overinflated.

Oh I agree, but I am still curious.

very cool, it's incredible how Randy keeps it so consistently on the edge of traction around a turn.

I have posted road america videos here and on youtube a few times (although this isn't me) I hit 144.7mph according to the PDR data.

So, no 150 MPH at Road America, surprised. Daytona or Talledega maybe?

I can see the front aero taking off 5 mph from an SS and there is the tire width (and fender width) as mentioned by SS 1LE.

Fenders are no different. Only the ZL1's have slightly wider front fenders...
