Ignition coil circuit p0356/p0358 trouble code help?

My '11 SS has 5K miles and tune/exhaust mods.

I started my car this morning and it runs really rough and has the p0356/p0358 codes and they are for the ignition coil 6/8 control circuits.

Can someone help me diagnose this problem and a way to go about performing the fix w/o taking to the dealership, thanks in advance!

Did it keep misfiring or did it finally level out? Check to make sure the wires leading to the coils are fully plugged in. It's not uncommon to get misfires after replacing exhaust. Make sure plug ends are seated on the coils and plugs as well.

Yeah, check your spark plug wires, particularly since the two cylinders are next to each other, they might not have been put on all the way, and worked their way off.

Thanks for the responses! The car just ran rough and didn't level out.

I will check the wires leading to the coils and make sure they're fully plugged in after work.

One more question...are the coil 6 and 8 on the passenger side or driver's side? Thanks.

The rear two cylinders on the passenger side. But check them all!

Well I just looked under the hood and those two coil pack wires have been chewed straight through. It looks like someone cut them with a knife, but I'm sure it was animals (rats?) since the car is parked outside.

I will have to see how much damage there is in the morning when it's light outside. Damn!

Well, at least you found them. Take a sandwich bag and put some holes in it; then, stuff a dryer sheet in there. Put a couple of those in the engine compartment. That will keep the mice away.
