my v6 camaro vs 08/09 g8 GT

So I ran into a I believe a 08/09 g8 GT and I was surprised how I ran against him. He didn't look or sound to be stock at all so I believe he had a few bolt-ons. 0-60 we were pretty even and then I missed 3rd gear because of my girlfriend yelling in the background >.<. Even though I missed 3rd he started pulling me slowly. I think that with smaller wheels and my car finally tuned I would have beat him. What you guys think? That g8 sounded amazing.

Guessing maybe the G8 just had exhaust? who really knows lol.

But anyways, gjarzabek009's V6 Camaro with the mods he has done is definitely capable of 13s, and with smaller or lighter rims most certainly capable of mid to low-mid 13s in the quarter.

So its not suprising to me that you kept up.

They weigh a little more than a V-6 Camaro.

i think the gt would beat you 9 of 10 times. they aren't that fast, but they are fast enough to where gm would not have built a v6 camaro to beat a v8 mustang...otherwise they would have had no reason to build a v8 camaro at all.

Your statistic doesnt seem to be accurate according to this race and I missed a shift.

With your mods you can probably keep up with one from a dig, but keep in mind they have much more mod potential and have some very serious top-end power

A stock G8 GT puts down somewhere around 290-300rwhp. They make about 360bhp and alot of torque. A G8 GT with just a tune, some exhaust mods will make close to 340rwhp. Every car is abit different yes, but in general, they make some good power increases with the opened exhaust and tuning.

How do I know? I know a guy from my local board who has just exhaust and tuning done to this car so far and he makes 338rwhp. He has been racing alot of local guys and has beaten just about all of them with V8's and I think one had a turbo 4 cylinder. So from a dig or a roll, honestly, the G8 GT is going to kill a V6 Camaro unless that 6 banger is modded to heck and back. That's IMHO.
