before waxing your car get some cheap painters tape and go around those few pieces of plastic like door handles and etc.

I would go ahead and use the all purpose cleaner then apply painters tape to the small section you need to rewax.

The assortment of small handheld units are available for under $50.00 and will save you a ton of work. Great on windows, door panels, vents, cup holders, consoles etc without the use of chemicals. Green is in.

PS: My vx was bought used for $450.00 shipped from another detailer who no longer does interiors.

Are the handheld units under a different name?

Try spraying Adam's All Purpose Cleaner onto the towel first so you can be a little more precise with where it goes rather than spraying it everywhere and wiping off all of the excess that has ran everywhere.

I also just realized the places that I've seen the residue on had enough room away from the car. I'd just have to be careful, I do plan on getting the entire car waxed though professionally. So this might work!

Why pay to have it done professionally when you can achieve the same, if not better results by doing it yourself?!? If you're hanging out in the Detailing Section here, you must already be just a little crazy like the rest of us.

Check out our instructional videos, they really help take out the mystery that sometimes lies behind caring for your car. You can't beat the level of satisfaction you get when you are done. Stand back, crack a beer, and admire the shine you've just put on your ride!

I have a ZL1 as well and you just need to take your time around the edges. I have purchased most of my supplies from Adams and Autopia both are great companies.

My wife got kinda upset when I spent the whole day back in September doing a full detail including the clar bar. But we went to a car event the next day, and with everyone eyeing our car she was like OK i see why you spent the day cleaning it.
Was kinda funny to watch her getting really involved with the whole car scene. Even went with me to the Camarofest event.

First it starts with one day details... and then multi day details comes next! Don't say I didn't warn you.

There's some spray that smells like bubble gum, I can't remember what is called but someone will. It comes in a blue spray bottle, it's a detailer and it works great. You can spray it on your paint, plastic, even windows. It takes care of wax residu easily. If nobody chimes in ill send the name to you. Good luck

Just placed my order, finally getting around to doing this. The residue has officially begun to annoy me. I'll post the results!
