I traded my 2ls for a 2ss a few months back, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Going from a 2012 -> 2010 wasn't bad because the car (to me) is aesthetically the same give or take a few interior differences. As for the warranty, you can always opt for an extended one, and if the dealer certefies the car I believe you get an extra year on both warranties. I think it goes something like that, I could be wrong though... I don't exactly remember the technicalities and I'm sleepy haha

I mean you asked for opinions. Absolutely I would trade, but I wouldn't have bought your car to begin with. But that is me. It really doesn't matter what I or anyone else would do besides you.

You have a new car with all the benefits of a new car. That's tough to give up, I feel like. I like the peace of mind of a warranty at this stage in my life.

Almost think having "supercharged" emblem would be more bad ass. I don't race or go to track and SS was never an option new (and I wanted brand new as my first ever car I had payments on).

Some of these statements seem like you are more concerned with what other people think than how much you like the car. Worried about how bad ass an emblem is shouldn't matter.

I'm not saying don't trade, I'm saying if you do trade, do it because it's the car you want, not whether you're worried about "status" that doesn't exist or what other people think.

Thank you for the feedback. I did want all suggestions and opinions so I appreciate it.

Hind sight is 20/20 of course. I am always pretty financially responsible for me means so I had set # in mind and could t bring myself to go above that. That was 2013 v6 vs 2013 SS. I was pretty set on a new car with warranty because like I mentioned this is my first new car ever.

I love my car, a little more power wouldn't hurt but it has enough get up for me and like I mentioned I don't go to the track or street race etc or care to. Think just the inherit "man" part of having the V8 is calling me. It is my daily driver as well..

Thanks for everyone's comments

Payed 25k for my 2010 2ssrs. Had lt headers hf cats full slp loudmouth cai full performance suspension and driveshaft. And a tune. Only had 9k miles when I bought it. Took me about 3 months of searching and drove 120 miles for it but it was worth it. I have no complaints

Traded a 2012 LS for my current car so I say hell yes. Yeah it had more miles but that wasn't really a concern to me

Yeah I would. The oomf will be nice but the V8 growl would make it worth it.

Heck, I traded my V6 Camaro for a new F150 with a V8 in it and I'm happy just to have a V8 again.

I would wait for the 6th gen. You have about 2 years left(estimated) till the 6th gen comes out. At that point everyone will be telling you to upgrade again. I would be nice to a 5th and 6th gen.

Trade but not 30k miles for $28k. Offer no more than $25k and otherwise walk away.

Another thing to consider is.... If you go supercharger, say goodbye to your drive train warranty.

This is what I was thinking. So either way, loose your current warranty with a SC addon ... or buy a 2010 with no warranty. Kind of the same. So I suppose, if you can trade in without loosing your butt on the LS in negative equity, gain two cyl and status, and have about the same payment, then why not do it??

IDK what others think about this website, www.carguru.com, but you can find plenty of SS's in there. Both local, and further out. So have a good look around before settling on one.

And if you do demod the car before trade in, let me know on the MRTv2, I might still be looking for ... :-)
