I can guarantee that it will be a crate motor... because if the engine goes into a GM car or truck, they have to make replacements for it in case an engine part fails and blows the engine while under warranty... all GM engines are/were available as crate motors... its just that some are priced so high that nobody in their right mind would want one unless you were getting it for free under warranty

Shouldn't be all that difficult swaping a chevy small block for a chevy small block. And from what I've seen the engine bay for the Camaro is massive, though the wheel wells seem a bit big, there is lots of space up front. Now, craming one into an Solstice or a Sky would be a bit of a stretch. But they did it with the LS7 so anything is possible

haha yeah ... I seen a guy pack a LS7 in his camaro on youtube. How awesome would it be to have a "Sleeper" and look like a v6 on the outside, but burn the paint off the car behind you when you take off

I wonder if there are going to be any supercharger upgrades through GMPP. For example (assuming there will be an SC model,) if the car comes with the same blower that's on the CTS-V, will one be able to obtain the SC off the 'Vette and stick in in the car? Will there be pulleys available to spin the SC higher?

I can't friggin' wait!

GMPP has offered SC upgrade kits before -ecotecs and 3800's for example, and so I'm sure they will again on this new breed of supercharged cars

But i have a source inside GMPP that says these will be available as crate engines 2 months before the camaro launches.

how sick would that be in a camaro.

Dude I am either buying this or the LS7 for my camaro in like a year and eight months if they don't do a factory Z-28 for 2011! Because I'm tired of waiting! Anyone guess how much it would cost?

i have heard (not from same source) that it should be around the price of the ls7, maybe $1k or $2k more then the ls7, you get better heads and dont have to pay the difference for the large bore block. and then have the supercharger to eat the savings of the block

Why don't you just wait for Magnason or Eaton to release their superchargers for the new Camaro? Throw some forged pistons and rods with cam swap and ported heads...you would be damn near close if not better than ZR1 hp ratings at a fraction of the cost. I mean, if anything, the ZR1 isn't expensive cause of the motor, that is surprisingly inexpensive except for the added internals to compensate for the Eaton twin screw.
