I would still buy mine if I had to do it over again, and would recommend one to anyone thinking about buying the convertible. I already had expected to encounter some issues being that the 2011 was the first year of the convertible, but other than the rub marks on the top, my car has been solid (knock on wood).

I chose the RS/SS model: the RS option because I like the halo headlights of the RS and also the center gauge cluster reminds me of my '69 Camaro. I also debated on the LT/SS option, but really for me the difference in price wasn't that huge of a gap, the insurance cost wasn't either, plus from what I read on here, gas mileage (especially in town) isn't that great of a difference. Resell value is another point I considered

The deciding factor for me was some of my car enthusiast friends told me that you commonly hear people that have bought a V6 say "I wish I bought the V8," but you hardly ever hear people that have bought the V8 say "I wish I had bought the V6."

In the end, buy what you want and what you are comfortable with. Its your dream, your car, not someone else's.

ive had mine since april,no issues. go ahead and get the loaded model. you live once and you can't take $ with you when you're gone !!! don't live to regret not getting what you deserve. these cars are holding their resale well and it's a good investment imo. if you're wanting to save $ get a 11 and take advantage of the rebates. it's the end of the year and they will deal. hope this helps.btw this is my first convertible too!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased the extended warranty with mine.Although I was not aware of the top issues at time of purchase, I got the extended warranty anyway as the 2011 was the 1st year for the convertibles and I was anticipating some "bugs", also I was concerned as this is my 1st convertible that I might experience some roof mechanical problems and wanted them covered by warranty.

Second is the top issue. I was going to order a 45th vert as my Birthday present to myself next week, but am very concerned about all the top issues. I lve in south 'bama (Roll Tide) and can/will drive the car year round. Do not want to spend that kind of money for the car to be in the shop with issues!
Got a week to make up my mind!

Thanks for all the input, have decided to go with the 2LT. Have put out feelers on the internet to my local dealers for pricing and who can find one for me. Now the waiting game.

If I can't find a 45th Anniversary anywhere, then I will consider either a white or the new red with the RS package. Thanks!

As far as original poster, V6-V8 your choice but I would look for a leftover
SPECIAL EDITION.

If black, white or victory red is ok the Synergy Edition is packed with really cool options some that u can't get on any other camaro

Second - the 45 anna killer car with neat extra touches

Third - Indy pace car edition

To my knowledge all r available in V6 or V8 and many 2011 r still on dealer lots.
Do your own searches don't by the old "11 r all gone how about a 12" line
This is the prime time to steal a loaded car for the stripped down price.

She's out there waiting for u. GOOD LUCK
