checking in from Vallecito Co...have pictures coming from the storm due in tonight. First winter in my RS and first winter in Pirelli scorpion snow and ice...have to say they do great...but the float is odd until the traction control sets in. We are fun snowy mountain driving with lots of ice under the slush

Have a curious question for blizzak users...I spent hours on the phone with bridgestone and they where adamant that I couldn't put blizzaks on my car with its stagger set. What are you guys doing to put the blizzaks on the car...different rim size? What?

Next question is what is recommended for scaling down rims from the 20's for next winter.

All you need are four tires with a diameter near 28.66 inches.

See TireRack.
Yes, you need to be careful with this, the tires HAVE to be very close in diameter to each other. If they aren't (you should be able to get away with .3 of an inch or so) you'll throw the ABS into panic and it will kick in at random times. You can pull the fuse (43 or 45) to bypass this, but you will NOT have T-Control, ABS, etc.

Long story short, you could stagger the rims, just make sure the end diameter of all 4 wheels is very similar.

My blizzaks are all 19" for my SS, they do have a spacer and I bought wheels at the same time. I bought my tires through my dealer and probably spent more than I should have, but I've seen the same set up on 2 other Camaros in the city, plus a few on the forum do as well.

BTW it was -32C on my drive in to work this morning, without the windchill!!!!

I thought only 20's would work on the SS. Did you take the roller skates off your brake pads?

No, with the spacers the 19's just fit. The dealer ordered and installed and when I had them put on last year, I checked to see if there was any rubbing of the wheel on the pad - its fine. Definitely could not go any smaller though.

He's a sponsor on here, he can remote tune. PM me if you can't find his info.

No snow here yet but it was 19F out. My car looks awesome on snow tires (on concrete). I always hit it on this one on-ramp.

Have you under coated your car/rust proofed?

My 1LS drives great in the snow!

My 1LS is a great winter car, the limited slip helps a lot!
