The nice thing about the 1LE is that if you get the mod bug like I did, you're starting with a less expensive ride! And it makes a great track machine if that's your thing.

If Cdn dollar gets better buy a slightly used 2014 1LE from US and save about 10k. Importing is a breeze!

You could not go wrong with either one. I really like what Chevy's done with the 1LE package, especially the '14s.

I wish peeps wouldn't give the perception that a 1le is a completely different beast than an ss. It's a very nice package at a great price and I enjoyed the car. to be honest, in my opinion the wheels were the best part about the package.

Based of the details you provided I would go with the zl1. Not because the car, but because of the way you are going to buy. If you buy a used zl1 a big chunk of the depreciation took place and you won't take the hit. Buying a new ss you take the hit the minute you title and register it.

The 1LE is a completely different beast than a regular SS. Performance numbers dont lie. I will say the 1LE and supercharge it later if you want. Advantage would be insurance costs over the ZL1. Both are great though. I like my 1LE because everyone thinks its an SS with body MODS. Not many people know what a 1LE are.

Well its technically an SS. 1le is not the actual car, its the code for a track package. Which is why its called a camaro ss w/1le and badged as an SS. I think people really only know what an rs and ss is though

IMHO if you go for a 2014 go with the 1LE IMHO the updated styling of the 14 esp the 1LE package on the SS looks really good. Don't get me wrong the ZL1 is bad ass but I would opt for the 1LE over th1 ZL1 if you are going for a 2014.

The 1le is different than SS. Different trans, gear, shifter, suspension to name a few. I think the 1le is closer to the zl1 than it is the SS even though it is just a package that is added to the SS. Oh yea the wheels are nice, but it was the whole package the lead me to get the 1le.

I understand what the 1le has over an ss... A lot of parts that can now be bought In the chevy performances shop. $3500 which includes wheels and tires didn't get you that far away from an ss and that close to a zl1. It's a nicely done factory modded ss.

They actually list it as the Performance Package thats why if you search most dealers web site for a 1LE they dont list them (some might but most wont). Yes it is technically an SS but with extras. But the two cars are totally differenet.

I have to agree with J-Vette the 1LE is closer to the ZL1 than an SS. Yeah you can put the parts on an SS to make it the same or close to a 1LE but not for $3500. Thats like saying I supercharged my 1LE so now its a ZL1. They are 3 different cars.

Test drive both and punch it in 2nd gear, the choice will be obvious. Thats what I did.

By that logic. Isn't a ZL1 just an ever more factory modded SS?

I would have gone ZL1 if I had been willing to afford it. The 1LE is amazing but I would love to have FI with a warranty plus the mag ride control would be sweet.

I would keep your current car. Think of all the mods you could do with that 10 grand you will lose on trade in. Supercharger/Cam/Suspension.
