Rev at idol???? .... Help!!
Hey Camaro peeps!
I really need some advice.... I'm a pretty new Camaro owner and I just put in my car for her first service at the dealer. As I drove home I noticed she was vibrating "slightly", only a little... Looked at my rpm needle and it was bouncing between 0-1.... Not normal right??? :s Help!

If you have the LS3 (manual transmission) it is normal for it to vary in the RPMs by 100 or 200 or so at idle. It should not vary 1000 RPMs or nearly die from dropping too low. The aggressive camshaft causes this, and many people actually prefer it's sound/feel because it is reminiscent to the old muscle cars from the 60's and 70's.

while you were driving or at idle? like he said maybe a 150 rpm jumping but not more than that, they have a name for the searching the car does. should stay constant at 600

All LS3 cars will move up and down SLIGHTLY at idle, as someone already said it's the cam in the LS3 that does this... it does make the car shake and rumble a little bit at idle on occasion, but again i like that feel.... makes me feel im in a retro muscle car.

del-boy, if anything you can have you dealer check it out to make sure there isn't anything wrong with the vehicle. Hopefully that's the case and all you've got on your hands is one rocking ride.

Don't worry about it. At idle when engine is warm, you will feel a little rocking and the engine RPM dips down a little, that is normal.

My LS3 has some slight vibration at idle... not a problem. The tach needle moves slightly but stays centered between the 0 and 1 (500 rpm). If yours is bouncing between 0 and 1, you have an idle control problem of some sort.

My LS3 will generally idle smooth. I do on occasion see, as I'm slowing down and clutch all the way in, the rpms fluctuate from 400 to about 800 rpm. While stopped I notice that if I use lower octane fuel, the idle surges up and down more. When I use 91 or better the engine idles smooth with little or no searching/surging.
