Plasti dip glossifier on top of the matte black plasti dip gives the wheels a "satin" look. I'm not a huge fan of plasti dip but it's fine for what it is. Powdercoating, in my opinion, is a more permanent (and better looking) solution.

Why aren't you a big fan of it??? Is there a some disadvantage I don't know about because it seems ok to me. I know it doesn't last as long but you just spray a extra layer when it starts to fade right?

Yes the advantage of plasti dip is that it's very, very easy to work with. It wasn't the look I was going for, I wanted more of a true gloss black. Also, after just two weeks of having it on, I found myself doing a lot of touching up (around the edges, inside of spokes, etc). I also noticed serious discoloration, probably from a combination of brake dust and the Florida sun.

So.... I ended up going with powder coating.

You won't regret it!

And I'm still deciding about the rally. I'll try to shoot you a PM if I decide to attend. Post pix once the wheels are done!

I just plastidipped mine but haven't used them yet. Decided to go a different direction but it wasn't that hard to do it if you change your mind
