Scratches on passenger mirror, culprit found!
So I’ve been noticing some hairline scratches on my passenger mirror for the past couple of months, seemed to happen on days I took my car to work. It’s been driving me nuts wondering how they were getting there but assumed it had something to do with the way I cleaned it (and just in my head that they got worse at work).
Here is my new nemesis (a cardinal): I swear this can only happen to me, lol! Last edited by nyrfan; 05-10-2013 at 09:37 AM. |

He likes the mirror and seeing his reflection, Narsassus re-incarnated as a bird.

I have had that happen to several cars I have owned.
The only thing I can think of is to buy a cat and have him/her sleep under the car

I have those little pests all over cars also (same looking birds). they perch on the mirrors and sh*t all over the sides of my cars.
i want to find a decoy that i can put by the cars to help stop them. |

I get the same thing. Luckily mine are not actual scratches. A good rub removes the lines. Anyhow what i do now is power the mirrors all the way out and up. Seems to stop most all of it as it's hard for the bird to see his reflection when on the edge of the door.
Mine is a cardinal. |

Wow. But that almost looks like a bird that was once domesticated and the Celt go into the wild

you could also put a plastic bag over the mirror. People will think you're crazy but the bird will not come back.

No, just a normal everyday cardinal.

If you have a sun roof...maybe a small toy snake that sits on the top side of the sunroof door and below the glass? Maybe even the dashboard? A bit like a scarecrow I guess.
No one will probably notice but the birds flying around above. Thought about that at an old apartment. I was having real trouble with bird poo on my car because they just loved to chill on it. But, I got orders and moved before I actually tried. |

My parent's have the same exact thing! Luckily the last time I was there it never touched my car, just everybody else's. Lol. Perhaps it saw the IOM and thought it couldn't beat that big of a bird.
