Just wait. It's a car. They'll make more.
Wait. You are from Canada right? These type of issues down here don't concern you.

My wifes car was totalled 2 and 1/2 years ago, and she was injured. 100% the others persons fault. We're still screwing around with the lawyers to get paid. I'm sure eventually we'll get the money. But I would never count on it to pay for a purchase until I had the check in hand.

Not Fail!! Its not over until the fat lawyer sings. Keep fighting!!!!! Stick and move; negotiate.....caj...eek wrong word...convince.......make calls.......just keep up the effort.

If the car is worth it then keep fighting your way through this. Whatever you do, take the best alternative for you finance wise. Make your decisions after a lot of thought. You will get thru this.

Have a chat with your dealer (the nice one who hasn't asked for a deposit) and explain the situation. You haven't ordered any strange options (not possible with so few) and he can sell it darn quick if your settlement isn't in before it arrives which might be May or June anyways

my 2 cents,if you need to wait for some type of settelment to buy the car you cant really afford it,plus until the settelment money is actually in your hands,i wouldnt bank on it,good luck

my .02 is if there is no deposite hang on and hope something comes through.

now if that dealer has other alocations you could always make up a color excuse and push your order back let someone leap frog you so to speak since you don't want the first delivery.

legal system sucks though. you are probably better off to just be one of the first that orders a 2013 might even get a better deal in the long run.

I think the smart thing to do is wait till you get your settlement then order a 2013...all the kinks of the first gen zl1 will b worked out and im sure by then more options will b available....and if you really want a 2012 they should good prices for low miled used one...i doubt many ppl will daily drive these like the SS camaros

Of course they concern me! You guys are the biggest purchasers of our goods. Our economy may be quite a bit more stable than yours, but we still need our American buddies to buy our products, so I want you guys to have a healthy economy.

Honestly, with the horsepower wars, what's the worst that could happen for waiting for a 2013 or even '14 ZL-1? It will probably gain 25 horse and lose 100 pounds.

Don't get yourself in a bind over a car. If you see that the settlement isn't going to happen anytime soon, just tell the dealer. You'll be able to place an order later down the road. Everything happens for a reason!

This!

King, you're a good guy. I really don't want to see you lose your shirt on this one buddy. WAIT. Don't buy the car until you have money in hand. You don't want a visit from the repo men to take away your baby and destroy your credit.

There is no one on these boards I want to see in this car more than you, believe me. You won't enjoy it though if you're in debt up to your teeth waiting for your check to arrive.

Sorry to hear about this, but like she said, things happen for a reason.

In the meantime, maybe pay yourself at least what your monthly payments plus insurance would be to continue to save? I don't know if you do that already or if you were just relying on the settlement for the down payment, but this way you save for a larger down payment and get a much better feel for how the monthly payments are going to affect you. If you have any problems putting that money aside, that may tell you something.

Where there's a will, there's a way, but don't make a choice that is going to bite you in the arse. Good things come to those who wait, keep the dream alive my friend

Probably most obvious statement and best advice so far.

Keep your faith in the Almighty. God gives Providence. You are blessed. Seemingly unsurpassible hurdles now won't keep you from accomplishing your goals unless you allow them too. This quandry shall pass. Keep faith in your conviction and with your dream. Carry on with your mission. Failure is not an option. Never stop believing. It will work out.
