Here is a thought, even on a weak car a person can get hurt if they drive recklessly. As for color, white hands down and then he could stripe it or anything he wants. Black like my dark blue, hard to keep clean, and show every ding.

Power/weight ratio is far worse in a lot of cars. If he is responsible and doesn't have visibility issues, I still see it as a good looking "regular" car. Acceleration in several other vehicles I've seen parents give their kids is very comparable.

Just as a thought, there have been numerous threads about good kids taking a new camaro to school...its an attention getter, for sure...a lot of peer pressure, jealousy, etc....Don't want to sound like a kill-joy, but even though your kid has good intentions and all, he will have to "deal" with some unforeseen or unwanted attention...May never happen, but just a thought....Good luck, again.

I am sorry to tell you this but it is impossible not to speed in these cars. Even so it is even tougher being of a younger age, in all honesty the day I got mine I drove around for about an hour came home and my family asked how fast I went, I told them only 60 when I actually went 91... that was day one....

I got my 2SS when I was 18. I had drove a 2500 2007 Silverado before and that helped alot. I haven't gotten in any real trouble in the Camaro. A few 10 over tickets but that was more of recently. I'd say you would be his hero , and that would be awesome for a 16yr old.

I had a 2000 suburban before I got mine... I got in my car and was like "what blind spots?" Bigger vehicles made driving the camaro easier.

THIS is my nephew's baby...He's been working on it and learning about engines, trannys, etc (with dad's help)-He's now a C-130 crew chief in the Air Force...IMO, THIS is the way to go, no car payments, low insurance, NOT FAST, relatively safe and it teaches kids all about maintenance, repair, etc...
