I'm sorry - there should be some sort of no enter zone for these cars.

Dallas has the law in place where an uninsured driver can be taken to jail but my experience has been it is at the officers discretion and it's a big hassle.

I'd take him to small claims...or if you are injured...sue him and make him regret making the decision not to carry insurance!

Exactly what I was thinking Michelle! Avoid 820 at all costs (difficult when you live in Keller like the OP, I know!). People on that highway never pay attention!

I stopped by the North Richland Hills Police Department this morning (ironically, it's only about 4 blocks away from the accident site).

They gave me a form I have to fill out and mail it in. I will be putting plainly on there that he has no insurance.

Which is exactly why I took 114 to 377 into Keller when I had physical therapy there last month. I'll be damned if I take 199 to 820 to get to Keller in the morning rush hour. My road rage is bad enough! LOL

Good luck with it man.

This why during any fender bender I call to verify insurance before anybody leaves.

I had a pretty good fender bender once. While waiting for the cop to come we swapped info. Recently at this time in chicago their was a rash of fake insurance cards going around. I called to verify his insurance while the cop was writing the report. I got told on the phone the policy was cancelled by the policy holder. When the cop came to me to hand me the report I told him what the rep told me. The rep talked to the cop also telling him it was no good and to revoke the card from the person. When the cop confronted the person the guy turned white as a ghost. He was citied for no insurance, falsifing a police report, on top of the tickets for the accident.

On the court date he was fined $2k and lost his license for a year.

I am pretty sure that your insurance company will go after the other driver as well.. Might want to call and ask them before you file small claims action....

I would slap him, not physically, but legally. One, if he or she don't have insurance, slap the guy with a Lean. Put one on the guys house and vehicle, that way if they sell they will have to pay the Lean.

Oklahoma is trying to pass the law that says. No insc, car is impounded. $500 to get it out. Or they sell that byotch.
