New Clutch or NOS

Obviously my goal is to go as fast as I can at the track. The NOS will help me do that. I am having the issue that everyone else has with their stock clutch sticking to floor. If I feather it right, it does not stick or burn. The clutch only has 37,000 miles on it.

NOS and a new clutch cost about the same amount of money, but I can only do one. I know eventually the clutch will go out and I am sure NOS will speed up that process but NOS will make me go fast lol. I am thinking a new clutch will cut down on my 2.2 60ft being I will be able to launch harder without having the clutch stick to the floor.

What would you guys recommend? Can I get away with installing NOS this year and a clutch next year? I try to make it to the track about two times per month. If I do end up going with the new clutch, do I need the multi-disc clutch or is the single disc work. What can I expect for the labor charge on average to install a new clutch?

Clutch is the only reasonable decision unless you want a high 12 second nitrous car. With those 60' times you're probably barely in the 12's now.

Why would you get nitrous if you won't be able to use it? If your clutch sticks now how would it be on nitrous

I am going to get a new clutch. With install and parts cost, my budget is not going to allow for a twin disc clutch. I am just under 500 HP/TQ and don't plan on adding a lot of HP anytime soon. Am I wasting my money buying a single disc clutch? I found a ACT CLUTCH KIT GM12-HDSS for a good deal.

Don't cheap out on cost. Its worth the money to have a strong clutch that can hold anything you throw at it. Single disc clutch's reach there limit quick as you turn up the power. If not in the budget than save till you absolutely need it or till you can afford a quality clutch. Mantec, centerforce, etc....just my2 cents. Ive been there.....

The one I am looking at now is rated for 745 HP/TQ. I don't plan on making that much power for atleast 5 years. With my power level of under 500 HP/TQ and the car being a daily driver, will the single disc be as effective at the track as the twin disc.

I have been looking on the forum and haven't found any. There is a Mantic 9000 series but the guy doesn't reply to email or text message. I don't know where else to look besides this forum. If I am able to use a single disc, I found a nice one for $500 shipped.

The street slayer is on page two right now for $1300. Maybe you can work something out with him. I love mine. It's worth it plus you can get it rebuilt later on at Hendricks engineering.

I saw that one, thanks. Just out of my price range. The install here in California is pretty expensive.

This is a good recommendation. Its worth it to save up for a quality clutch that will last , rather than burning through multiple cheap ones!
