Ran in Orlando with a 13.501 with launch control, 13.521 with full traction control and missed a shift on the other pass.
Yours says bone stock..... with that kind of time you must have not been running the Pirelli's. I couldn't get those to grip at all. |

Nope. Stock tires with 32 lbs in 'em. Your short times aren't that bad. Orlando and Bradenton are generally very well prepped, so it's prolly not the track. Just keep working on your launch technique and you'll drop a few tenths. My best 60' is 1.870.
Also, how did you break it in? Did you follow the GM method or the Darrin Morgan method? How its broken in seems to have a big impact on how strong the motor is. Mine was broken in with the DM method and its very strong. nhra stocker ran a 12.62 on stock tires and also broke his car in the DM way.

I broke it in trying to stay close to the GM recommendations. I read about the DM method after a couple hundred miles. Couldn't resist stomping the right foot went it had about 250 miles. Hey... you gotta see what it can really do.
The car had about 1600 miles on it when I when to the track. It felt strong at the bottom of the track. I need to try it with everything shut off. Did you peddle the car yourself or use the GM settings? Last edited by Toyaholic; 03-04-2010 at 05:56 AM. |
