STOPPED BY POLICE :/ - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Last night i was @ a traffic light at the sea-side and got pulled over by Police, along with other race cars nearby..

Policeman approached my window and asked me to "blow my exhaust- throttle it" so i did; he looked at me nodding and asked me to pull over.

I parked aside and went to the policeman gathering "PENATLY" festival they seem to be having! :/ as there were a cue of young guys getting penalty fines and their motors being towed! I thought "F*** this sH*t; i really thought my car was gonna get towed to the police station and a fine just cus of the Flowmaster exhaust noiSe!

..SOOO, I WAS LUCKY, the same policeman walked me to a side & said:
" here's your license and registration book and off you go mate" @@ ....i was stunned!

So off i went, thinkin' this situation i will face again :/

lucky. Though they can't actually get you with a noise violation without measuring with a decibel meter

i hit 5ks and 6ks with this on my face "

and he started to close his eyes as there is somthing sore inside his mouth ,

15 min later my car towed

yeh i was tryin my best not to rev above 3k...
I just dont why the car gets towed over an exhaust noise, where is it stated in the law?????!

Camaro without an aftermarket exhaust system aint really worth the enjoyment!

That sucks. I have clients in UAE and KSA, and the stories they tell me about how corrupt some of the cops are on the highways just blow my mind.

No such problem in Oman. Cops are much nicer here.
If you're street racing though, you're sent straight to jail! One of my friends was, but the cops let him go with his car after an hour, no issues.

My answer to the police if I'm ever asked to "blow my exhaust- throttle it": No, thank you, I don't wish abuse my vehicle like that. But I'll be happy to let you listen to it as I drive away.

Honestly, it's because in Kuwait everyone is pretty much racing and modding their cars over the limits.. Entaw ba3ad male da3i ashr7lkom t3rfon el 3agad. Drbalkom ya shbab and drive safe..

What I like about the V6, there is a point in the RPM where it is simply quite regardless of the type of exhaust system you have !!

I have LTs, Cat back , and CAI but whenever I see a cop I keep the RPM below the 2000 and let the car roll with no problem

Talking about exhausts,is there an exhaust system that sounds pretty much OEM .......until you really kick it!! Does this kind of thing exist?

I have no experience with exhausts but really don't like driving around town with the car sounding like a boy racer's. I want it to sound loudish only when I am really flooring it.
