Tuning issue
Hey everyone, I am having issues with my cam tune.
Here is the short story: When the 226/226 profile cams went in 5 months ago, despite the fact that the car was slow, I could drive my car around without any issues and NO error codes popping up for 2 months. Once I got my 1st tune, which I'm pretty sure its the same tune as when Yellow_Glide had when his car was being tested with the 226/226 profile cams, the car got 30rwkw instant which is a GREAT bonus...BUT... there is an error code that has been popping up almost everyday for the past 3 months now and I have to delete it because once it pops up the car has enough power to drive to the side to delete it. The error code is P2189 - System bank 2 running lean at idle. I have received an updated tune almost 1.5 months ago which I was told they increased the fuel ratio into the engine when its sitting at idle. BUT now the car stinks fuel, its dumping fuel which is a waste and the error code is still there. I used an ELM bluetooth controller to get some readings from the Torque app and also the ScanXL pro app on windows, and here are the readings: AFR: 14.7 at idle MAF: 47-52cfm at idle V.E.: 22% at idle Are these idle readings correct? Has anyone else had this issue and might know how to fix it? My car is a Holden ve sv6, alloytec engine LY7 manual. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers, Peter Last edited by Tulkas; 12-11-2012 at 01:51 AM. |

Hi Tulkas- is that correct on the AFR?!? I'm at mid 11s at idle.
Kjkj- The 226s in the LY7 did not have to be resized.

Tulkas: What are your long term fuel trims.. These are what would trip that code, most likely you are +10% or above on the LTrims on bank 2 (Passenger), and that is what is tripping the code. This can be from vacuum leaks, fuel pressure, etc. - Matt |

I also did a exhaust system leak check but that came out healthy too. Would you think that if the error code is ignored the ecu will popup something else? |
