Sun roof hmmmmm?
I am on the fence, can anyone help me lean one way or the other.....weight difference?....hmmm, what to do..that motor would sound real sweet through an open roof!

Welcome to C5.
To me, it's an issue of how much the moonroof encroaches on the headroom space in the cabin. I am only 6'1" and my head/hair rubs the roof liner with the moonroof and makes me feel "crowded".... Not to mention the maintenance, possible leaks, and/or wire vibrations/rattling. As far as sound goes, I'd have rather seen the rear windows roll down like they do on the convertible. |

You will love it
I love mine , open every chance I get. Would not have it any other way.Unless I owned a vert and glad I don't from hearing about all the leak problems. But if you are 6"-2" or taller go sit in one and adjust your seat to driving position and check your head clearance to the head liner. With a hat on my head almost touches the liner.Oh, little noisy but just turn up the music.

I'm 6'4" & 240lbs. Had one on a 2011 RS and I topped out whenever I spiked my hair. Lol. I've got a 2012 45th now, and I passed on the sunroof on this one. Way more headroom.

Even if you are 5' 11" or taller if your head touches the roof the work around is simply lean the seat back further back. Not an option for me, I have sat and both cars. I am 5' 11" and even with the seat leaned back it bugged the hell out of me. I wanted a sun roof initially but no more than it opens up the roof, (small opening compared to some other vehicles) no sun roof for me. Plus I think the looks would clash with my stripe package.

I hardly use the ones on my two cars that I drive now.
So I have decided to go with out it. If they had a hard top convertible like a BMW, I saw recently. I would love that feature, it's just sweet the way it works.

The reverse mohawk looks way better than the sunroof.

I decided on no sunroof for this reason.
Open air/window on top of my head is not as important to me as the exterior appearance of the car. |

I've been looking for a 77 or 78 T/A to turn into a "Bandit". Watched Smokey and the Bandit last week and got the fever. That picture you posted is bada$$ but don't think I could afford it along with the ZL1. :(

I think the mowhawk roof looks better too. I am not crazy about the roof opening over the car...thanks for your input, I think I am gonna pass on the roof. Thanks guys!
