It's just as GM said, "The new Z/28 will be 'Most Expensive Camaro' ever."

I assume they meant street legal terms since the COPO is over $100K.

It appears this car is far from the Z28 of recent years-past that everyone and their brother purchased for street driving. Unless you're serious about racing, I can't imagine dropping $70k+ on a Camaro when you can get the ZL1 or better yet, the new Stingray for less.

except the COPO is legal to race in its respective class in NHRA rules, the rumor mill has been swirling that the Z/28 doesnt legally qualify for any class in SCCA and the COPO was built specifically to meet that class requirment.

after being enlightened by others here on the board, Z/28 is alot more open to other track events. Making it seem like an even better deal.

Most people here don't appreciate a true hot rod. They want back up camaras, memory seats etc. back in the day you would order a car with radio and heater delete. The AC was an option you wouldn't want. That being said if they were making these Z28 with 2013 tail lights I would buy one in a heartbeat. Since the the prototypes came out I wanted lighter cars. I don't want all the extra crap. In fact if I could sign a waiver and get one without the bull**** airbags I would.

The Z/28 is not for everyone and it sounds like you are not among the people who understand this car.
The Z/28 is NOT a pure track car. I'm a fan of GM and everything they stand for but this is simply not true.

At the camaro owners appreciation even and lunch, the GM/Chevy reps spoke specifically about the Z28, and he stated that it's not going to be an ideal daily driver.

I remember him saying it's coming standard with NO A/C or radio, but those may be upgradable options...

The way I see the Z/28...it's an awesome car that I'm not going to pay for...and now it gives me a whole new slew of OEM parts to raid. I don't want the whole car, but I want a lot of what it will have.

The ZL1 already does that, and if the Z/28 is only 3 seconds faster than the ZL1 I can make that up in HP increases.

Don't kid yourself, they will sell every one, and if the production totals are indeed 3-400 there will be bidding wars. I would not be surprised to see them fetching six figures, half of them will go straight to collectors for long winters.

I think you are a little delusional myself. No way in hell will this car be able to hang with even the z06 vette and most likely will not even beat the c7 track package that can be had in the same price range.
I'm sorry I love Camaros but world class sports cars they are not.
