this is obviously in response to the first batch of those customers who may have painted to match and then lost the front lip- GM doesn't want to absorb the cost of replacing the unit, the labor, and your paint... doesn't surprise me in the least... (unfortunately!!)

Thats dumb. why would u not want to paint them, especially if the kit doenst match your car. If painting voids the warranty everything painted on the body should as well.

Hello!
|
You sure it just doesn't warranty the paint?
I mean if there is a defect in the GFX...then paint wouldn't matter! Give me a new GFX kit and I'll repaint it! If you are looking to have the paint warrantied, then yeah, that wouldn't be covered but for defect or craftsmanship, it would still be covered I'd think? |

they come pre-finished- they do not come "prepped and ready for paint" your paint is your paint, it's not part of their design.

The wording states that painting voids the manufacture warranty.

If by painting the GFX, you void the warrenty on the GFX kit itself, then thats complete bullshit
Just because aftermarket skirt kits are painted, doesnt mean they fall off, i sure as hell hope they arent blaming the pain forthe front clip falling off |

Well all the more reason to make me happy I didn't buy the GFX. Sorry for the rest of you guys. IMO they look so much better painted body color.

I'm pretty sure the ground effects are shipped with the 3M double-sided tape already applied to the kit and if someone were to paint the ground effects, there's a high risk of the painter damaging the double-sided tape somehow.
At least, that could be GM's concerns. And when I say "pretty sure" I mean 100% positive, considering I pulled mine out of the box before the dealership screwed up installing them... |

Seems odd...I still say they won't pay for paint but if there is a defect they'll replace the part (yes I know the wording states that painting voids the manufacture warranty) |

Apparently the paint adds extra weight and it's not strong enough to support it?

I agree, Legend- i say they'll replace them if theres a legitimate issue with it, but that will be the extent of their liability...

I hate companies that don't have the gurts to stand behind their products. GM should go shopping elsewhere.
