Cold Air Inductions (CAI) Intake Info
Hey C5 members! Things have really been picking up again for the spring season, and we have been getting a lot of PM's and calls regarding the same question so I though I would post the answer here for you all to see.
Q:"Does your intake require a tune? What are your performance gains with/without a tune?" A: CAI Inc. Intake systems do not require a tune. We see an avg RWHP gain (HP to the wheels, not the crank, hood closed during testing) of about 14 HP on a stock V8 and 15HP on a stock V6 Camaro. These #"s are on a stock car no tune. Of course, you can get a tune with our system if you so choose. We see an Avg of 25-30 HP with our system and a tune on an LS3 and an Avg of 30-35 HP with our system and a tune on an L99. Every tune is obviously different, and if your vehicle has other performance upgrades such as headers, exhaust, etc. then the gains could obviously be higher. But I think these #'s give you an idea about the gains you could be getting if you chose to get a tune with the system. Again, our systems do not require a tune and the HP gains, throttle respone, and sound at WOT are going to be much better even if you never get a tune. I hope this helps you guys out when doing your research on your CAI Intake. As always, feel free to PM me or call me should you have any further questions. I really look forward to meeting some of you at the C5F in AZ coming up!! |

30-35hp just with cai and tune? Sounds too high to me. I got 39 hp increase with CAI, tune and full exhaust with headers. Most of that came from the headers and cats.

Looks awesome man!! Like I said, the 25-30 HP with the tune is on avg. The tune itself can and will vary and the low and high gains could be slightly out of that range. But the 25-30 HP is a consistant Avg that at least will get you close to what you could be looking at with the CAI and a tune. Thanks! |

Ditto on the sound an increased HP! Real noticable (more base) at higher RPMs.
My ADM Air Scoop and replacement water reservoir arrived yesterday. Hopefully I will get time to install it this weekend.

All systems are advertised for the same retail price whether you purchase direct from us or throgh a dealer. Some dealers offer free shippng. The system is $399 in Silver and $449 in black.
We are currently revising our system for S/C applications, we hope to have it available in 4-6 weeks. I will let everyone know when its ready. |
