hyundai used to say the genesis is going to be the cheapest 300hp car. i doubt it now that we know what the maro costs the gen coupe overall is nice, but the front is just plain ugly. wuah.

They probably weren't expecting the Camaro to have the full 300 hp DI engine from the CTS. Looks like the were aiming to undercut the Mustang by just enough.

Looks like a toss between an Accord and and one of those newer Escorts. What were they, ZX2's or something??
The Camaro V6 should still walk all over that Genesis, and the Cobalt SS/TC isn't gonna have ANY trouble smoking that thing. The new Turbo Cobalts are runnin 12's with a tune, and cat-back exhaust for cryin out loud. LOL!! |

The point is I WASN'T comparing on just 1/4 mile. If you read my post it 1st suggested cars in the same market PRICE. From there I then compared the cars that would be compeditors of the hyundi coupe in performance.
I didn't even mention 1/4 mile times in there. But the fact of the matter is that those cars I listed would be competition for this V6. Not just in "1/4" but in price, overall performance, and then the obvious bias categories like looks, appointments, etc. They pride themselves on low cost, competative styling and performance, and an outstanding warrenty. If this car comes in at 27K+ then it has already lost the biggest battle. |

i am actually a fan of this car... although not the v6... ill take a 19 grand turbo 4 with a 8 year warrenty and 38 mpg... and decent quarter times BEFORE a boost in turb and tune.... you guys can argue all you want but its a barn burner... less than 20 you can have a turbo rwd coupe
THINK nissan 240sx

Getting a little touchy huh..
You did not include any performance info other than accelleration times and horsepower.. how else can we compare them??? I did point out the Cobalt ss had a .9 G skidpad rating, so i guess it will hold it's own on the roadcourse...in fact it laps the ring in 8 min 22 seconds. What did that Hyundog do it in?

I'll be test driving it along with the 370z. It doesn't really compare to the Cobalt IMO due to RWD vs FWD.
