Check it OUT!!!!

LOOK here......

i have a quick question ...i went to pick up my new camaro today at 530 pm.....the car is black and they had washed it when it arrived earlier today, it was in the beck of the service department under flourescent lighting.... i took one look at it and told my service rep i have an issue... it looks like they pulled it off the delivery truck dirty from its trip here to tennessee and just washed it while it was covered in dust or something.. it looks beautiful from far away but as i inspected it, there were small lines all over the car...like in the clear coat or something ...i did not touch the car but i pointed it out to my sales rep and he agreed so they are sending it to a local detail shop in the morning and i am going back to look at it later tomorrow.....any help or suggestions would be great!!!!!!!!

thanks everybody.. i don't post much but you guys are GREAT+++

I would be hesitant to let your dealer have it detailed somewhere. I'd almost rather bring a bucket to the dealership with me. I don't trust dealers.

If there are swirls marks and scratches, it could’ve been the towels that the dealership personal used to clean you car. The coating was handle roughly. I had faced this problem before with my Landcruiser and mentioned it to the dealership not to use their rags. I use micro-fiber towels which work best.

Well, just inspect your Camaro thoroughly with the reflection of a lighted source and see if there are swirls and scratches. If yes, than work something with the dealership. If not, than welcome to the brotherhood and enjoy your ride for years to come.

My 98 Z-28 was black. Here is what I learned. Never again! As good as the black looked on Chevy's web site last year, I remembered how quickly the black Z got swirled and scratched. It looked beautiful in the showroom but after one New England winter it looked like s**t. My 02 was pewter and looked as good the day that I traded it in seven years later as it did the day that I got it. My 2010 is ice silver metalic.

Order yourself some Zaino and get there kit. They have products that really work and can deal with your situation. Black is the hardest and regular towels will scratch your clear coat like the other guys said. You have to be very careful with these colors. I have the only hands that will ever touch my Camaro and Corvette. I use a leaf blower to dry my car and it works great!

Another Camaro in TN!

Its probably swirl marks in the clear coat like someone mentioned earlier and went to a detail shop to get buffed out. The person at the dealership probably used towels that weren't very clean when cleaning your car.

When it comes back from the detailing shop, have them park the car directly in the sun and make sure that there are not swirl marks all over it.

Son, this is your Dad speaking.

I don't want you to be disappointed but it's not a Camaro but a Civic.

You will thank me for this when you are 40.

Dad.

P.S. Not.
