I have heard that starting the car periodically is not only non-beneficial, but could do more harm than good. Starting the car and idling it, will not eject the condensation from the exhaust tips, which leaves this condensation on the inside of the exhaust system, to rot or rust it out more. could be wrong, just what i've heard on here.

For those of you in the "change it before winter", where would you draw the line? For the record, I've ALWAYS been in that camp. Struggling with dropping 100-mile synthetic.

How much is the oil and a filter for a DIY job? Less than $50. Pretty good insurance against more expensive problems later.

Importantly, place a carpet or cardboard under each wheels to prevent dry rot

I've never used a tender. It sat 6 months and still started .

I think they have a sleep mode if they sit a while. But I could be wrong.

I think you are fine until after winter. Good cleaning before you put it up will be good though.

I change mine in september each year and average between 2-2.5K a year, so you should be fine, might want to put a little fuel stabilizer in the tank, a tender on the battery, but other than that you should be ok.

I just parked mine today, Carpet pieces under the tires as it sits on concrete. I will be going up next week and getting the battery out(No electric where I can plug into), and putting fuel stabilizer in. Is there a certain amount of gas that should be left in the tank? I have about 1/4 tank.

Mine will be going once the first snowfall hits, hopefully that's not till december lol. A full tank would be best just in case you start it up during the winter.

battery tender jr for me and I think there are many that use it on here, works like a charm and isn't too expensive.

Have anyone placed their car on jackstands to elevate the wheels for about 5 - 6 months? Am considering this, but don't know if this would upset the shocks / struts. Have 13K miles on dash.
