Directly from the FAQ on GM's Military Discount Site.
https://www.exclusivegmoffer.com/ip-...igibility.html Dealers are not required to participate in the program. Please see the GM Military Discount Rules and Guidelines for complete details. All 2010 GM cars, SUVs, crossovers and light-duty trucks are eligible for the GM Military Discount Program except: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Most 2009 GM cars, SUVs, crossovers and light-duty trucks are eligible for the GM Military Discount Program except: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Saturn All vehicles HUMMER All vehicles Saab All vehicles Most 2008 GM cars, SUVs, crossovers and light-duty trucks are eligible for the GM Military Discount Program except: Saturn All vehicles HUMMER All vehicles Saab All vehicles So you can't buy a Saturn, Hummer, Saab, or ZR1 on a Military Discount, but if the dealer accepts it, then you can buy any other GM vehicle. I also used the site to see what the difference would be for what I plan on ordering. 2LT/RS with the Engine Cover: MSRP - $29,435.00 Military Price: $28,503.00 and this already includes the $795 dealer destination fee.

Nice.
boo on no discounts on the ZR1... If they did I'd have one... Not that I'm in the military anymore nor can I afford one... but that's besides the point.....

This is what I have been told by my Sales Manager that I will receive. I am not planning to ask for the GM Discount for it, but hey - if they offer it...

I have a great Dealer here. The one's surrounding Atlanta are on the price gouging thread... I put several of them there. Anyway, they honor the discounts (Mil, Supplier, USAA) but as agreed, cash and full price gets done first. It works for me so I can save more for the down payment!!! Hoping on Christmas Delivery!
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33112 SUPER DEAL for me! there are better one out there IF you qualify! (what I wouldn't give to have a relative working for GM right now!!!)

In a few more months we'll all be selling near invoice anyway. Supply catches up with demand, supply gets less expensive. Yes, I'll try and lead the way!

Nesmith Chevrolet in Hinesville GA gave us MSRP, minus the USAA and their own $250 military discount. Wish we could have gotten the GM Military Discount as well, but we are very pleased with what we did get.

Military and USAA discount are one in the same. All Military and USAA discounts are, is supplier pricing. They don't stack together. As far as how much the discount is, it depends on which model you use. LS models will have alot less than 2SS.

Not all Military are USAA Members (should be...) - and not all dealerships will offer the GM Military Pricing. And also, some Dealerships will offer their own Military Discount, BUT not offer the GM Military Discount. All said and done, you could be looking at nothing or the following: GM Military Discount: $1064 Dealership Military Disocunt: I have seen between $250 and $1000 USAA Member Discount: $750 Various Credit Unions: $750 They are not bundled together becasue of any other variable in this process. Good Luck, |

Wasn't saying that all Military were USAA.. Sorry for confusion. As far as what the discount should be, and from every military or USAA memeber I have sold, they both come out to Supplier pricing. Or atleast that's how GM is wanting the program to work. As far as what discount the dealership gives you, unfortunately the program is optional for Dealerships to participate in, and if they do they may not give full discount. This may be why a bunch of these dealerships may not be around much longer. From information I have gathered, the dealerships that GM is keeping around, seem to be the ones that are doing what GM wants and participating in programs. Go figure, you do what your told, and they keep you around!

My wife and I have been researching this topic at great length. We have easily contacted over 20 dealerships and not one will give us both the GM military discount and the USAA discount combined. We found one that will do $500 off MSRP and the USAA discount which I might bite at, still mulling it over.
Basically we want a Black 2SS with "cyber gray" metallic rally stripes, power sunroof and polished aluminum wheels. Before tax and title it comes out to $36,065.00 and I was hoping to get it down to at least $34,500.00 after the discounts. I never ever would have thought it would be this difficult to get a car and I am still in shock over the dealers that want thousands over MSRP. |
