Also not sure if your saw C&D review of the 2SS that put down better numbers than this 1SS did.

Car and Driver 2SS: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ic-test-review
Price: $47,480
Transmission: 8 Speed Auto
Zero to 60 mph: 3.9 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.3 sec @ 116 mph

Also to note... the price as tested is about $120 off between the Mustang tested in this article and the one at C&D. The 2SS is also still 65lb lighter than the GTPP tested.

Now for even more factual details from MT

October 2014 - Ford Mustang GTPP H2H results from the 2015 Ford Mustang GTPP vs. 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE.

Ford Mustang:
Price: $46,380
Transmission: 6 speed manual
Zero to 60 mph: 4.4 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.8 sec @ 112.2 mph

October 2015 - Ford Mustang GTPP H2H results from the 2015 Ford Mustang GTPP vs. 2016 Chevrolet Camaro 1SS

Ford Mustang:
Price: $47,350
Transmission: 6 speed manual
Zero to 60 mph: 4.6 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.9 sec @ 110 mph

I would say lets get a 8 speed auto Mustang in here... but I guess they are slower than the manuals.
No 8-speed. It's still an A6.

The A10 should arrive for MY '17. Which will most likely be the only performance upgrade Mustang gets until an MCE in maybe MY '19.

Price as tested is a huge difference... Although the camaro is "est", that's a lot more money to pay and still lose

I'm wondering why the Camaro's MSRP is Estimated? Was the article written before final prices were set?

How about Dave Pericak lied?

Autoline Daily May 3, 2013 he said they where going to lose weight while acknowledging the high level of standard features and options that were in the weight model. (i.e. accounted for)

Quote:
A.L. I love what your saying about pulling a bunch of weight out of the car

D.P. Yeah. We are definitely going on a crusade to do that. Now how much can we get? I don't know , we're still looking at it. But I think 200 lbs is within our reach.

A.L. Look. All the domestics have a weight problem.

D.P. Yeah

A.L. There is a huge opportunity across the board for GM, Ford and Chrysler to take a lot of weight out.

D.P. There is. Yeah, I mean there are. I problem though is its funny, everybody... We love our creature features here in the States right? So the more you add things as standard features it just adds into your weight model

http://www.examiner.com/article/chief-ford-mustang-engineer-lied-about-weight-reduction-on-2015-ford-mustang
According to Mustang Chief engineer David Pericak the PP would best the Boss
Quote:
We already set a very high standard for Mustang driving dynamics with the 2012 Mustang Boss 302, and our goal was to go above and beyond that with the performance pack on this new car, said Pericak

On the tracks, by and large, it does beat the Boss.

It's not as fast on the drag strip however.

To be exact Dave P said they were trying to lose weight and that he thought 200 pounds was doable.

Trying to does not equal "the car is lighter". Notice how he worded it versus AL O's. "We're trying to lose weight" vs "We have lost weight"

Unhappy

I don't understand why GM choose very narrow front wheels for the Camaro SS and Stingray: 19x8.5 wheels which limits your options to get wider tires that could help you reduce understeer. For example on my car I have a square 19x9 wide wheels set up and I know that I can go safely with a 275" wide tire, but there's no way I will be able to fit those tires safely to a 19x8.5 wheel.
I just check tirerack and the widest that you can go with the 20x8.5, is just 255, and that is not wide, my car came stock with 255/40R19 and I hated it looks and its handling immediately I upgraded to 275's but I was able to do it because of my stock 19x9 wheels it was a complete change afterwards for better handling and great looks.

I wish GM would put a little more effort into cleaning up the look of the LT1, I hate those stupid plastic covers. I think the 5.0 looks a lot cleaner. That is the only thing I can find to complain about this car.

Ironically I say keep twisting. Because we'd do the same to you. When the mod 5.0 dropped I'm sure the knives were drawn then, why should it be any different now that Camaro has the upper hand.
