Racing Brake 2 pc Rotors Installed

I installed my Racing Brake 2 piece rotors with open slots, Stainless steel braided brake lines and Hawk HPS brake pads today. The rotors save about 6 lbs of weight each. I already had Motul RBF600 brake fluid in the car. To replace the lines it only took about 6 ounces of fluid to bleed the new lines.
To break in the new pads, it took about ten 35 mph moderate pressure stops and another ten 55 mph hard stops to get the temps up. It was only about 25degrees outside at the time.
The brakes have a very firm feel now compared to stock.

Stock Rotor. The new thickness is 32mm. Minimum thickness is 30mm.

I can see this becoming a popular mod considering these cars' weight issues. 24 pounds is even more impressive considering that it's all rotating mass. Who did you get those rotors from?

That's a good looking setup; those rotors look so much better than the stock ones. Besides the firmer feel, do they seem to grip better?

Yes they grip great. The Hawk HPS High performance Street pads are softer than stock and really grip, and no dust!!

I am putting mine on this week, can't wait! Will post pics.

What is the useful life on the Motul RBF600? Any idea of mile interval before you need to change it?

At least as good as your oem fluid. I haven't seen a cut and dried change interval. Maybe call Motul and see what they recommend.

Better be quick, not sure how long racing Brake is holding the Camaro5 discount!

They are working on the rear step currently.
