Losing my patience with K&N

On July 1st I purchased the cold air intake from New Level Motor Sports for a great price! The item appeared to be in stock however it was not. After contact New Level I realized the item would be delayed slightly due to something at K&N. They encouraged me to contact K&N directly for more info. I contacted K&N last Monday (the 9th) and the guy said my order will be shipped out on the 13th and he also apologized. I felt a little better, I wanted it sooner but hey what can you do. Well it is Monday the 16th and just out of curiosity I contacted New Level to see if they have any tracking info for me. They surprised me when they said K&N still hasn’t shipped anything out and they keep on saying they will but aren’t. I know its not a huge delay but I hate being told one thing then wait on another. I just wrote K&N an email to see what their answer is this time…

For your information New Level Motor Sports has been very helpful and they are answering any question I send within minutes. Great guys over there and I can see their hands are tied in this situation. I just hope K&N can give me an actual answer that will hold up. If it’s going to take 4 months I don’t care, let me know.

I have always used K&N before but if I keep dealing with this stuff I’m going somewhere else.

Sorry for the vent just aggravated…..

Yeah I am almost to that point... If I don't have a clear answer at the end of this week I am getting a refund and taking my business to another company/brand...

I hate when stuff like that happens. I had to put up with the same thing from ChevyMall about a month ago. I'm never ordering from there again. If I were you I'd call them up and demand they do something to help make it right. A free "You had to put up with some seriously dumb bull****" gift, or a partial refund, or something.

...I just checked Phastek Performance...their site says the K&N cold air intakes are backordered until August 27th!!! Yikes!! Plus, AutoAnything doesn't show the product and K&N website themselves are saying SOLD OUT!! I just got extremely lucky when I ordered mine (unknowingly, of course!)...

Got an email from K&N that it will not ship out till Aug 24th.... I am making a phone call in a few minutes for a refund. What are your thoughts on the injen intakes? I heard they get 18+ rwhp?

I found this thread a while ago. Give it a read, it may help you make a decision. I'm leaning toward getting an Injen, but I'm not too keen on removing/replacing my wiper fluid container.

Thanks for the link I am going to read it now.

I am in the same boat as you, I want to keep my wiper fluid where it is at. I spoke with the guy over at New Level and he told me that if you get the short ram intake you do not (but I do not know if this would be the same hp increase...).

After reading your link, seems like CAI and Injen are the way to go. CAI is slightly better at hp and Injen is slightly better at TQ

CAI is the pricier option, but well worth it. Go with CAI and never look back.

I'm a fan of CAI also, had one on my 11 and imediatly got one for my 12 no need to relocate the washer bottle, it fits inside the box though you do have to take the cover off to refill, ( an easy thing to do, 4 1/4 turn screws ) I like that it has the cover because I often wash my engine bay so no need to worry about getting the filter wet. it has a bit better throttle response than stock and has a nice sound under acceleration.

Apex Chase + CAI intake = Free shipping and UPS man in 3-4 days. All good. Highly recommend both.
