The ambient lighting comes on when you first open the doors, and then also when the headlights are on. Which does exactly what I want.

Using the door lamps in the stock holes give you a nice point of light, but not quite like the other footwell lighting like from AAC style. I don't mind this as I think if they were brightly lit as some of the others, it would be distracting at night.

Gotcha! Well mine was built last November. I'm sure it can be done. Doing it on the other hand...is a different story.

Here are the parts I used for my install and a little info.
I used two 10" Piranha Bars
http://www.oznium.com/piranha-bar
I also bought two Linear Light 3 foot extension cables.
https://www.oznium.com/linear-light-extension-cable
Also one t-tap.
I used the 3 foot extension cable to tie the two lights together. They plug into the ends. This was I would only have to use one hot and one ground. I took the other cable and plugged it into the end where I would be running to the dome wire. I didn't need 3 foot so I cut it in half. Ran the positive to the dome wire and grounded the other to the bolt to the right side of the gas peddle. I spliced in a Spade terminal connection. This way it would slide right behind the bolt and washer. The only think I would point out is the extension cable wire is on the thin side. Almost like a thinner speaker wire. It is to big if you fold it to put in t-tap. So what I did was stripped then end first. The I was able to fold the fire to make it about the same gauge as the dome wire. Hold this helps. If I can help others in anyway just ask.

They do sell a dome bulb. The only thing is it is not a 5 led bulb. You can get them off the forums here or ebay. I would go with ebay though. It might take longer to get but the cost would be around half. Sorry but $40 shipped for them bulbs is crazy. How can somebody charge $11 shipping on bulbs? You can get just about the same bulbs off ebay for around $15 shipped. Shit I didn't spend $40 to do my footwell lighting.

Here is my point on the dome lights.

The amount people are marking them up is nuts. Plus what they are making on shipping.
