Dominion Raceway

Today I was at the 24th Annual Car Show for Walker Grant in Fredericksburg, VA and had this in my goody's bag about Dominion Raceway.
I have scanned both front and back information and wanted to share with you in the Mid-Atlantic.

I think a lot of us will be enjoying Dominion once the track opens.

Sorry to see it won't be a 1/4 mile track, as many hoped.

Thanks for posting this! The road course looks very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of HPDE events they have there.

Personally I think they should have stuck with what they know, roundy round and drag racing, and leave the road course out of it. I think they would be more profitable running a full quarter mile strip catty corner across the property, perhaps through the center of the oval, and forget a road course.

This also may have allowed for a larger oval then the 4/10s they will build. I just do not see how you can accommodate an HPDE that usually runs Saturday and Sunday and "loads in" on Friday evening, and still run Friday night drags and Saturday night oval racing. They just don't have the room. I think they crammed too much into too little space.

I cannot wait for the road course to open.

There will be strong demand for it, I am betting. Great location!

The original plan I thought, was to include a 1/4 mile dragstrip. Why the change For the same reason I've never gone to Summerduck, or other 1/8 mile tracks, I won't go to this one... Capitol Raceway or MIR are still around, and fast tracks for that

I think they had to make changes to please Spotsy Co. and the local neighbor's. But, that Route 606 bridge over 95 needs to be better than what it is now.
It will take little while to be a good track until good rubber is on both tracks, drag strip and roundy round.

I think Dominion will pull events from some from South Richmond, or from Dinwitty area.
