Pfadt zl spec sway question
So I installed a zl spec sway on my SS today and the bar rubs the caliper bolts pretty bad. It's the brake line bolt. I have v6 brakes on the rear so idk if that's the problem. If anyone else has the same bar installed any input will help. Does it fit with the brembo's? Do they make a flat headed caliper bolt? Like an inverted torx bolt?

Has to be the V6 calipers. The only clearance issue I had was with the ends of the bar being extremely close to the CV boot of the 1LE axles. The diameter of the outer CV is larger on the 1LE than the SS stock axles.

I believe the DSS axles are an issue. There's was a thread on here around Fall of 2012 discussing this. I recall it because that's when I put mine on. Guys talked about shimming the collars pushing the bar back and down trying to get more clearance. One guy was going to make plates to do this instead of using washers/spacers that someone else suggested. I didn't care for that solution since it was changing the bars position and angle.

Yes there is a known clearance issue with any FE4 rear sway bar (OEM or aftermarket) with the V6 rear calipers.
Pedder's Z-bar was the only exception but so far it is still unavailable. Supposedly, as long as your pads are like new, there should be enough clearance. That might be your only quick fix right now. |

I might have to give new pads a try. Thanks guys I really appreciate the help.
